DP based on hotel stay or tickets?

I don't want to get a ticket to the parks for our last day because I don't plan on going, but I do plan on eating. Does the amount of days you get for dining depend on your hotel stays or your days at the park?

It's always based on the number of nights (not days) you stay at your resort. Never on the length of your ticket.
