So we are trying to decide which to do for an evening of fun the night we get to Disney. If you could only do one, would you choose to go to Downtown and eat at Raglan Road OR would you choose to go to Disney's Boardwalk and eat at either Kouzinna or Big River Grille?

HELP!

Despite Disney's attempt to market Boardwalk as a destination, there really isn't any comparison. There is just so much more to do at DTD, even though almost all of it is shopping.

If you want to find a lot of stores to shop at and etc then I would go with Raglan Road because there is a lot more things to do at Downtown Disney comapred to the Boardwalk.

Assuming from your signature that you're staying at Pop for you trip, DTD is also way easier to get to and from if considering Disney transportation.

That said, if driving I really like Boardwalk - but it's a trip of understated cosier fun rather than the more in your face experience of DTD so depends a little on your personal tastes.

I would choose the Boardwalk and go to Kouzzina. Nice food and then fun things to do on the Boardwalk after. Perhaps a nice drink at the Belle Vue or Crew's Cup. This area is less crowded than DTD and provides for a very nice evening.

You didn't mention if you had kids or not. I would say DTD with kids (use DisneyQuest if you have parkhopper + more option on your tickets). If it is only adults, go to Boardwalk ONLY if you go to Atlantic Dance Hall or the dueling piano bar (name escapes right now...). If you don't want to go to either of those, I'd pick DTD. I think DTD has a more fun atmosphere but that is my opinion!

I agree with pp -

if you have kids, DTD would be good. Dinner at Raglan is great, then you can take them over to T-Rex and build your own dinosaur they can take home with them ( think Build-A-Bear ). There is Goofy Candy Co or Giradelli's that you can catch dessert at later. There is also a small carousel at the Marketplace for kids. And Disney Quest on the West Side.

If just adults, I would go to BW. You can stop for a cocktail at the Bellevue Room at BWI - good for a pre-dinner drink. Then afterwards the dueling piano bar is lots of fun ( arrive around 730p for best seating )
