My family and I are heading to Disney World in June, and it will be the first visit for our daughter who will turn 5 while we are there.

My question is about Downtown Disney. Do we need to use a ticket to get into Downtown Disney?????? I have looked many places and can not seem to find an answer to this. Thanks to all!

No you do not need a ticket for Downtown Disney. You are free to walk around, shop and eat. If want to get into DisneyQuest which is located in Downtown Disney you will need a separate ticket.

I enjoy just going to Downtown Disney for a quick lunch and tons of shopping.

Just to reitereate; NO DTD does not require a ticket, it is free. It is mainly similar to an outdoor mall; lot's of stores and eating establishments. There is Disney Quest that cost extra if you choose to go and there are some "rides" that cost extra: a train ride, carousel, and a hot air balloon ride. We don't do the rides, but be warned small kids will ask to do so;).

Even though we are not big shoppers, we enjoy it. There is a lot of great photo ops and my kids love playing at the lego store (tables with lego's set up to play with) and digging for dino bones in a mini-boneyard in the T-Rex gift shop.

If you get the water parks or more option on your ticket DisneyQuest is part of that, otherwise you do pay extra. Just to walk around Downtown Disney is free and I sure do wish I knew that when my kids were younger. I did not know way back then.

We love to eat at Earl of Sandwich while there, but I am sure if it is in your budget T-Rex would be great for younger kids into the dino thing, I believe you can get ADR's but it is NOT on the DDP. Anyone here will correct me if I am wrong.

Is Pleasure Island near DT Disney? Last time I was there I believe it cost $30 to get in.
