Downtown disney - Virgin check-In

does anybody know if the Virgin checkin at Downtown disney is still open? I know it was closed for a while just after 9/11.

We have a late afternoon / early evening flight back this time so would like to spend every available minute away from Orlando airport if possible!!

My understanding is that it is not open due to security issues.

It was definately closed Oct 2002 when we travelled and when we asked the reps we were told it would remain closed for the forseeable future.

It wasn't open when we last visited in December/January last/this year.

It's a massive bonus and makes the deaprture so much easier, but I think, like Shirley said - it is to do with security issues - better being closed than open and at risk.

This issue winds me up & I can't seem to find out why it is still closed. I've just returned & the Virgin rep. said they've got the o.k U.S side & they're waiting on us!(don't know if it's true) They screen every case at O.I.A so security should not be an issue. I hate wasting the day checking in at mid-day. If they can't open it, why not open the airport check in earlier? I sent an e-mail about this to virgin ages ago but got a bit of a jobsworth reply.
