Downtown Disney View Rooms at GCH - question

Do the Downtown Disney View Rooms at GCH have a good view of the Fireworks? Is there anything specific I should ask for when checking in (location, floor)? Anyone have any experiences?

Also - is the dessert seating for F! a good spot to watch fireworks?

We were going to see F! at 9:00 and stay for the fireworks (the first night of Halloween Screams - 9/25) but I'm sure it will be crazy with SM and HM opening up that day and the first Halloween fireworks. If we can see the fireworks from the room, I was thinking that we could watch them from the balcony and then walk into DL to catch the 10:30 F! if we feel like it.

We are staying at GCH with a DTD view in two weeks so I can tell you after our trip. Have only had Theme Park view before.

As for the fireworks after F! We always stay at the dessert seating during fireworks after the 9:00 show. We have done this several times. The crowds are so bad you really wont make it anywhere before they start any way. The only thing you do not see from the F! angle are the projections on the front of the castle. We have enjoyed the view though.

A couple years back we had a DTD view room and as neat as it was to see the fireworks and the shops, at night it was really loud. We don't go to sleep that early but even when we did around 1130pm a couple nights it was still very loud and it was hard to get to sleep. We just get the standard or Theme Park view now.

I hope the F! seating is good for the fireworks we'll be doing that Sunday night.

Hi -

We had a DTD view room a few years ago. I had ALWAYS thought I would hate it....because of the noise.

Anway, what we found was....we were in the last section of the Grand Cali - our room actually overlooked the back of the Indy building. We were high enough and the lower balcony was part of the DTD''s roofline so we lost no privacy....and probably helped soundproof the room.

We could see the fireworks above the rooftop....and somewhat off to the side. What we found, however, was...it was a really easy sprint to DL and Main Street.

We still laugh about it.

Our friend....we will call him Pooh (big, cute and cuddly) was staying with us. He came down with a cold. I went for supplies. As I stood there, I realized....oooooooooh, fireworks in 10 minutes. I thought about it.....looked up toward the room...over toward the fireworks......OFF TO THE PARK i went.

Pooh heard the firewords, saw me gone, put 2 and 2 together. I returned with every cold pill known to man, OJ and a VERY guilty look on my face!


You can see them from your room....but the park is mighty close!

Just got back and had a perfect view(3147) of the fireworks and DTD. Music at night was wonderful and we did have a good view from the F seating just could not see the castle.

Great thanks for all the info! We aren't concerned about the noise - we are nightowls and love to be right above the action - so no worries here. (Besides who goes to Disney to relax?!?! LOL)

Once you pull the sliders closed you will hear nothing.

Good to know. DH likes to watch/hear the action, but also likes it quiet when he sleeps.
