Downtown Disney - two bus stops?

Hello!

We have reservations at Wolfgang Puck Cafe, which I think is on the west side of DD. I've taken the bus to DD before, but I always get off at the first stop on the other end! Does the bus make a second stop on the west side? Or is it a separate bus?

Thank you! :)

Any bus I've ever taken to Downtown always makes three stops: Downtown, PI and West Side (not necessarily in that order). Hope that helps!

It's been a long time since you last visited Disney!!!!

The Westside stop (down beyond Cirque) hasn't been used for ages now. For Westside you now get off the bus at Pleasure Island.

The first stop is Marketplace, the second is Pleasure Island. Then back to your resort.

You want Stop #2 -- Pleasure Island/West Side.

Wolfgang Puck is located between Virgin and AMC 24.

No...actually I've been there the past three years in row...but on hindsight...I think we did walk from PI up to the Westside and WP, but it was a very short walk. I think I was thinking of the driver spiel of "first stop Marketplace, then on to PI and Westside" and I took it as still being three separate stops.

Sorry! :thumbsup2

Only 2 stops.

why did they get rid of the west side bus stop?

The West Side bus stop was additional five minutes for each bus on each route. For an Example: each route is suppose to have 3 to 4 buses on each route, (I say suppose to but that does not mean that they do these days with MOD) so take the five minutes for each bus and then add them together and you would come up with 20 minutes for each bus route, now add the amount of bus routes running (there are 12 routes times 20 minutes = 4 hours saved for each shift). Bottom line is Disney saves money by not stopping at the West Side and making guest walk to/from Pleasure Island. pirate:

I'm sure the bottom line had a large impact on the decision. However, I think the walk to the West Side Bus depot was longer than the walk to the PI bus depot from much of the West Side. So, I don't think it handled many guests.

I remember when the West Side stop was still open and except for Cirque and Disney Quest, it wasn't really useful.

I don't know how many times when it was open that we would roll through there an no one was at the stop.

Exactly. The PI stop is just as convenient as the West Side stop to 95% of those locations. The ONLY time the West Side stop saw anyone was from Cirque. Aside from that, it was a waste of time.
