Downtown Disney parking situation???

I was in Disney last week and went past DTD several times in the evening (from around 6-8pm) and every time the signs out on the main road said "Lot Full." I have heard it's worst at night, so probably depends when you get there. I think the best bet would be taxi or going to one of the resorts and taking the bus.

We were there last night - sign said lot full. We pulled in and found a spot in 20 seconds.

We forgot about the construction and didn't know about the Casting lot, thanks everyone for the info, we are going to T-Rex and Bongos so this helped.
