We have it in our minds to rent a canopy/pontoon boat at Capn Jacks but would likely do it spur of the moment. Is this something that needs to be booked well in advance? If it works out it would be a weekday afternoon. Any experience or opinions? Thanks

No reservatiosn needed usually have more than enough boats to rent enjoy

We rented a pontoon boat from Old Key West and headed towards DTD. Really nice relaxing ride and we had lots of fun!

We walked over earlier in the morning and reserved one for a bit later, if my memory serves me correctly.

We've done this 3 or 4 times. It was usually on a Sunday morning, which was normally the day of our return. At that time of day, we were usually one of the first ones renting.
