Are there any non-Disney hotels in the walking distance, or very close proxmity of Downtown Disney? Are Lake Buena Vista hotels within close proximity?
Thanks

Marriott's Imperial Palms Villas is a best place to stay near Downtown Disney Village. I was stayed there few months ago with my family. The location was incredible as it is outside of Disney World we got three bedrooms that were huge and immaculate. Staff was very accommodating there.

The OP asked about hotels within walking distance of DTD. The property you mentioned is at least 2 miles away.

The downtown Disney hotels are within walking distance. Those hotels frequently run promotions. There are a few other hotels but they are a longer walk. Probably at least a mile.

Many (most?) Orlando hotels have extra charges. Hotels may have a resort fee, parking fee or fee paid by guests using theme park shuttles. The Disney hotels are a major exception.

I think most (all?) of the DTD hotels charge a resort fee, parking fee or both.

^^What Lewisc said^^

Make sure to include keep that in mind when looking at rates. The Wyndham now charges a resort fee and a valet parking fee.

The Hilton at DTD is the closet one. ( I think) We have stayed there a few times, when we have had a change of plans and can come a day early, which is great for early check-in at our Disney resort. It's very nice and comfortable. It is a short walk to DTD maybe 5 to 10 mins based on how fast you walk and who's walking with you. Also they have bus service to the parks.

Be aware of the add ons..when booking, the last time we stayed I think self parking was 20.00 to 25.00 a night and valet was 30.00+. Also there is a resort fee, and other hidden fees. We booked the night at 99.00 but once everything was in it was more like 150.00 so beware when booking. But we where okay with that price as it was last minute.

FYI - the Wyndham is now 100% valet. That change caught me off guard during my last visit.

It was not last month when we were there. That doesn't make any sense at all since they have ample parking spaces for self-parking. We had two cars during our visit. I just found the update in their policies. That is dumb. They can charge me $8.00 a day, I don't care about that but I would still rather park myself and not have a valet do it.

Agreed, NinaBella. :)

According to the person I spoke with, the new policy started in February, but I think they're getting some pretty severe pushback from guests. When we were there, I'd say about half of the guests were forced to valet while the other half were able to self park because they spoke with the manager and/or made their reservations prior to the policy change.

The poor guy at the checkin desk acted almost embarassed to tell me about the change.

We stayed at the buena Vista Palace in February just across the road from the marketplace car park and loved it. The hotel was really nice and getting to Disney resorts for dinner and back was so easy.

We stayed at the Hilton last December and it was fabulous. Just a 5 minute walk to DTD Market Place, and, the only off site hotel that offers Extra Magic Hours in the parks! :thumbsup2

We stayed in one of the Junior Deluxe Suites and OMG!! It was almost TOO big for the three of us!! :rotfl:

Thanks, everyone for the feedback and information. I'll be checking out each location mentioned....appreciate the details too!
Hilton has Extra Magic Hours....love that! Although not sure it will have what we're looking for for accomodations....and Marriot Villas also sound great, while Buena Vista Palace sounds like another good option.
Also love those that are within walking distance....although we'll have a vehicle so driving a few minutes to get there won't be a big deal, but always nice to know proximity, in 'real time', not on a map. :)
