downtown disney car rental

We need to pick up rental car at Downtown Disney location. Does anyone know the best way to get there from Paradise Pier?

Walk out the west exit of PPH (not the street exit, the other way) and turn right, walking up the path towards the west end of DTD. The Alamo location is in the same building as the AMC Theatre, and faces one of the DLH towers.

thanx jlmarr, I'm also assuming it's not a long walk. How does it compare to walking from Hojo, which is where we normally stay.

It's close, probably 200-300 yards. But they don't have any cars there - it's just a desk. I'm assuming they shuttle you out to where the cars are.

Alamo and National share a small lot next to the Desert Palms Hotel on Katella, and there's an Enterprise/Hertz lot next to the Cheesecake Factory, also on Katella.

Great, that's good to know. It will make a difference as to how much time we allow to pick up the rental.

When we picked up our cars at the DTD location the cars were parked on the GC parking lot.

i picked my car up there last trip and it was waiting in the parking lot.Very good and quick service would use again next time we fly down.Driving down at the end of the week this time to save a bit and upgraded our hotel to the GCH.

After all this, I realize we pick up our car on the first day of our stay, which means we will be at the Hojo. We spend 2 nights there, go to San Diego for 2 nights and then back to Paradise Pier for 5 nights. I hope we don't regret not staying at the PP for the 1st 2 nights. Our plan is to walk from Hojo on the day we arrive, to pick up up our car, drive it back to the Hojo and then walk back to DL. Are we crazy?
