Hi Disney-Fans:)
We are taking out 5yr old and 3.5yr old to Disney for the first time next week. It is my 5yr old's birthday and we are taking her to the BBB as her gift. We have a 3:30 apt at Downtown Disney the day before we go to the MK.
I have 2 questions:
#1. I planned to get the crown package, and my father wants to buy her a dress for his gift to her. Can we get the $59.95 package and but a dress without having to do the big $189 package?
#2. I've seen that dresses at BBB at in the $60 range. The BBB at Downtown Disney is in a Disney Store though - would it be wise to shop for a dress in the store before going in for our appt? Would those dresses be the same as the $45ish ones on the Disneystore.com? I warned my dad that it could be $60+ but I'd rather he didn't have to spend that much if we could find something cheaper.

Thanks for your help!

The Disney Parks dresses all run about $65. It will be the same whether you buy it at BBB or in a store at DTD or in the parks. We do think the dresses are usually a step up from the Disney Store $45 dresses- both in quality and style- although the Disney Store dresses are great. Every now and then, there will be one of the parks dresses we don't like as well as the Disney Store version- and that usually winds up being because of some scratchy material somewhere. If you have a Disney store near you, you could buy a dress there and have your Dad bring it and give it to here- the problem you might hit is if you get there and she suddenly decides she wants to be a different Princess.

They will let you buy the dress separately from thecrown package if you don't want the full castle package. That won't be a problem. The difference in price with the bigger package is because it will also involve shoes, crown, and scepter/wand (and the printed photo).

Whatever you do, don't promise her that she can be Elsa or Anna from Frozen. Right now, those dresses are sold out in the Disney parks. Elsa is the absolute hardest to get. You would be extremely lucky if they happened to have one of either of those in stock when you are there next week.

thank you SO much, that's exactly what I needed to hear!
My daughter is so wishy washy, that's why I think it's best she pick out the dress right then and there. We have the hardest time with Halloween every year with her changing her mind at the last second.
She's been talking about Ariel and Jasmine a lot lately so I'm betting she picks one of those - though if they happened to have Elsa in stock I bet she'd be all over it :)
Thanks again!
