I'm staying at the Hilton Netherland in Downtown Cincinnati, OH for a conference - and I was hoping someone would have a recommendation for a good restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

go to the rockbottom brewery on fountain square....great food!!!

Okay, what type of restaurant do you want? For nice restaurants Palomino is AMAZING! It is right above Tiffany, close to the Hilton. I know you said within walking distance, but Montgomery Inn is a Cincinnati tradition. It is right on the river, you would have to take a cab. There is also a Skyline Chili downtown which is another famous Cincinnati food. Also, Hathaway's in the mall downtown is a little cafe. It is not fancy or nice, but I just think it's so cute, I enjoy eating there.

In downtown Cincy, there's only one logical answer: Skyline!!! "Regular Five-way, please and a large Dr. Pepper!"

I went to a class in downtown Cincinnati last year. I was there 5 days, and I ate at Skyline Chili 8 times. So a big :thumbsup2 from me. You can get ribs and such anywhere, but Cincinnati chili is unique to that area.

Don't know about rest. but the netherland is one gorgeous hotel. We stayed at the Milineum across the street a bit and walked through the Netherlands lobby. All I can say is if the rooms are even half as nice as a lobby you are in for a treat.

And "I'll have a Coney with that."

Thanks for the suggestions. We have Skyline Chili where I live. The meeting I'm going to even has an event one night that features Skyline chili and graeters ice cream. What a combo!

The Palomino looks wonderful. Anyplace that lists their desserts on the first page of their menu is my kind of restaurant! Rockbottom Brewery looks good too. Maybe I can hit their happy hour first!

:thumbsup2 uhh yea skyline..i eat that every wednesday night ..kids eat free night

2 Chili Cheese Coneys (without the dogs) with onions and mustard and a medium Diet Pepsi please. Ah how I miss Skyline. I'd vote for Montgormery Inn too-think you might need a taxi for that one. Try and get a window on the river.

Rock Bottom, yes! We love that place. Make sure to order the carrot cake, quite a slab. The apps are great too.

We also loved Redfish, a great cajun place. It would be a few blocks but it is a good place. We saw Nick Lachey there a few years ago!

I thought I would let everyone know that we ended up going to Rockbottom Brewery. It was so close to our hotel and just the ticket to get out of the conference mood. The food was really good and the portions HUGE. I had the chicken fajitas and it could easily feed 2 people. I'm not a beer drinker but my friend tried a glass and gave it a :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your suggestions!!!

Well, I spent most of my time inside the Hilton Netherland and it was a very lovely hotel :sunny: I actually used to live in Fairfield (many moons ago) & worked in Downtown Cincy. Plus, it was my third trip this summer - but my first staying downtown. I would have loved to have been able to stay for Octoberfest. It looked like fun.
