Downtown Atlanta Restaurants

Hi. Going to Atlanta for a bucket list trip to see Elton John Nov. 2-4 at the State Farm Arena. Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Baker St. I'm hoping for suggestions on restaurants in the area. We especially want a nice brunch Sunday morning and dinner that night that's either walkable or a short uber ride. Also will be looking for someplace to grab a bite after the concert late Saturday night. Any help is much appreciated!

Mary Mac's is good (not walkable)

The Sun Dial is a nice place for dinner. Pricey...food isn't really worth the price in my opinion but you go there for the views. It's on top of the Westin...I think 70 floors. (walkable, watch out for bums)

Ironically, I'll be down at Disney that weekend!

Atlanta Breakfast Club would be great for your brunch, and it's within walking distance. If you don't mind taking a Lyft or an Uber, you can check out Ponce City Market, which has a number of unique options, and includes a little shopping too. PCM has one of my favorite Ramen (Ton Ton) and Chinese (Jia Szechuan) restaurants in the city.

Given where you're staying, I assume the concert is at Philips State Farm Arena. Not sure what's open that late in your area, but I know a Waffle House run is always a traditional thing to do after a late night out and there's one within walking distance. If you want something that's open late, but again, don't mind a Lyft or Uber, you can go to The Varsity and try the famous chili dogs.

Thanks. Don't mind an Uber at all. Ponce City Market actually looks like a great place to visit after the aquarium if we have time. Have a great time at Disney! Hit all the F&W booths for me since I won't make it this year. We were there for F&G in May tho.

Absolutely would look at Sun Dial for your brunch. Night is pretty with lights but really not a view. I don't believe they have turned the rotating floor back on but am sure you can walk around to check out views after you eat. https://www.sundialrestaurant.com/

Pitty Pats Porch is an icon, southern cooking. It's old, not really had any kind of renovations in decades. It fits the theme as if it's an old home but not everyone is prepared for how basic it is, like kinda musty old best I can describe. A really good icon of southern cooking - need uber is Mary Mac's Tea Room. I would pick it over Pitty Pat's. It's right on the way to Ponce City if you want a good meal then go on to Ponce for exploring. https://www.marymacs.com/

Polaris at the top of the Hyatt Regency actually rotates (not as good a view as the Westin though)

I work in Downtown Atlanta in the 191 Building. I feel that most of the really good food experiences are not downtown. If you are willing to Uber, it is work the trip to Ponce City Market or to Midtown or even to Inman Park. Whenever we have to have business dinners downtown, we feel that our options are very limited.

There is Ray's In The City for good seafood. Tin Lizzy's is also a fun take on Mexican - but not fancy by any means.

South City Kitchen in Midtown. The house it's in was an old boarding house for boys. The neighborhood is clean and very historic. It's not expensive like Ray's. It's a modern take on Southern dishes, and they are so incredibly good along with the service. Even the chicken livers! OMG! Before I ate here you could not pay me to eat chicken livers! It can get a little loud but it's a beautiful intimate spot. I've had my birthday dinner there for the last two years when I go to AmericasMart in July. I recommend it to everyone.

I can second the vote on South City Kitchen. I actually work in the same building that the Buckhead location is in! Great drinks and eats!
