Anyone been? We are thinking of visiting when we go there... We have 3 days to spend in Houston... what would you do?

Yup! We like it. There's a nice restaurant, very neat theming and environment, the shark encounter ride is cute (not worth a long wait, but it is worth a short one), and the walk-through aquarium is easily worth the $7 or so admission. If that's your kind of thing, it's worth a visit.

The Museum is also very nice in Houston. They've got a beautiful butterfly pyramid which is worth a walk-through, a nice IMAX screen that usually has good shows, a planetarium, and a pretty good Natural History museum, all linked to the same complex.

The zoo isn't bad, but if you're coming sometime soon, it's been way too hot to enjoy, or I personally think so anyway.

If you want to run down to Galveston, Moody Gardens is a fun stop.

I also agree with Rajah.

If you are coming with children, Spacecenter Houston is fun also. While you are down there, the Kemah Boardwalk can be fun too. Lots of restaurants (including the original?? Aquarium Restaurant), a fun fountain for the kids to play in, and middway games and a few rides. Be warned, the Aquarium Resturant is a little pricey.

The zoo is good--although it may be too hot for that right now.

Okay. Duh. I *work* in the space program, and completely forgot about Space Center Houston. :p Yes, that's definitely worth a visit as well, if you're at all interested in the space program. :)

One of my children has been to the aquarium and liked it. Space center Houston is a good place to visit. I used to take my kids to the zoo all of the time and they enjoyed it.

Thanks for your input!!! We are leaning toward both the Downtown Aquarium and the Spacecenter... followed by a day in Galveston... There are so many things to do... I wish we had more time... :(

If you are looking for something else to do inside, Ice Skating at the Galleria is also fun. The Galleria is a large mall in a very busy and fun area of town. Not downtown, but I think just as busy as downtown. I can't remember the $$, but it was not too expensive. Have fun!!

If I had three days to spend in Houston, I would go to San Antonio. ;)

Don't forget the sports teams. :)

I havent been ot the RFC in Galveston but I hear they have a raft ride there. Hopefully I'll get to check it out soon.

Moody Gardens down on Galveston is suppose to be very nice. My kids have been there and enjoyed it. The Galleria can be a great deal of fun. The ice rink there is very nice.
