Downsizing Room

Does anyone know - if you have a ressie (during a sold out time) for a 2BR, can you downsize it to a studio or 1 BR. I guess my question is, I know a 2BR is a 1 BR + studio but do they have to rent only a certain number of each room type?

It seems everytime I book a trip I end up with extra company and sometimes can get the larger room. When I end up paying cash for 1 night it is a killer. So I thought I would start big for next time and work down if I need to.

Not all two-bedrooms are a studio and a one-bedroom. Some are "dedicated" two-bedrooms and have only one entrance door. This can't be split.

You also can't just "keep" the half of a 2-bedroom that you want. Technically, you cancel the 2 bedroom reservation and re-book the studio or one-bedroom. If there is a wait list, those people get the room, not you. However, chances are good that MS will be able to work it out for you and you can downsize. Keep in mind that if you do this less than 30 days out, the points you save will be put into a Holding Account for reservations made 60 days in advance.

This is sort of in line with my predicament, but just the opposite.

In May, we have a 1-bedroom reserved for the week, and my in-law's just mentioned they would like to drive up and spend a couple of days with us. So I was wondering how I could reserve the studio next door to our room for just a night or two so they could have a room right next to us.

Actually, it may be better if they weren’t RIGHT next-door and perhaps in another part of the Villas!!

But for child sitting purposes (which we would most definitely take advantage of) it would be better to have them next door.

So would it be possible to set something like this up with MS?

This is me this year. Already made a ressie for 2br then parents said OK we'll come too. So talking with MS I added another Studio and REQUESTED that it be as near as possible to my original ressie. MS said it is not guaranteed but durint the time I am going IT SOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.
