Downside to going in late April before the new celebration?

There is a chance that we could go to the world in late April (if I can work it out!) but I just would hate to miss any of the new things happening starting May 5th. We could also go in July maybe, but its so darn hot then and I much prefer April in Florida. So on balance, what do you think?

I will not be using the Magical Express, so that is not a factor. I was just thinking that there will still be construction going on and things that are not open, although I can't seem to find a real list of what will be new starting in May. I remember going one year just before they started some other celebration, and I remember feeling like we were missing out on things. Just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on this! Thanks!

the planning video indicates a few new things....cinderellabration (should be running before 5/5) the castle..again ready earlier...a stunt show? at MGM... the transport thingy from the airports....you are not going to miss any new parades, fireworks etc...most things should be running on soft openings before you arrive....

Are you saying that the transportation from the airport to the hotel provided by Disney is going to start before 5/5? How would I find something like this out for sure?

Thanks :wave2:

tough decision. I don'tthink you will miss much, but I am no expert. You know you will have a great time no matter when you go. Whatever you decide, make the decision and don't second guess it. Good luck and have a great time.

We'll be there the last week of April.
I'm hoping there will be a soft opening for Soaring and the new show at MGM during that time. I hope that the new ride at TL will be open by then.

We'll miss out on the free transportation that doesn't start until May 5. A new Pal Mickey will be released in May.

I'll be there as well.....

Magical Express has no soft opening, the motor stunt show and Cinderellabration should be open, IASW will be open. Soarin' seems to be the only if -- there is a good chance it will be open, but might just be for AP

...and the one new thing I MOST want to see is Soarin'. I'm almost positive, at this point, that we'll miss it. I've heard the new stunt show should be up and running by then, as well as the new water coaster at Typhoon Lagoon...but I was really, really hoping to catch Soarin' and I don't think it's going to happen. :sad1: Guess I'll have to beg DH to go back again soon! :smooth:

What?!? Free transportation from the airport to Disney?!? Is this transportation free for all the Disney resort guests or free for anyone who wants to do Disney parks? Is this transportation will run until the end of the 50th celebration? This is good! I can save money on ground transportation from the airport to Disney resort. How about going from Disney resort to the airport, do they provide that too? Thanks!!

I was going to be there just before May 5 but I have pushed my plans back to leaving 6 may for home instead of the 3rd. I will at least get a day and a half there. I will be back in December, but I figured since I was down there visting friends that I would go to see how everything is.

Magical Express starts May 5th. I'm not sure of the details, since we will be there a week earlier, but, I think they gather your luggage, and bring it to your resort, while you go on, and check-in. and then the same on the way back. I believe its for any disney resort guests.

We will be there last week of April. My DD hope the new Cinderella show, is running, which it looks like it will be. :cheer2: We all want Soarin' to be running. :p. The MGM show, looks okay, but none of us are all that excited about it.

I just hope it's not too crowded. Our last trip, was during the opening of Wishes, and the media event for Mission Space. I thought it was soooo busy, compared to our trips before.
