Tried searching, but the search feature is not working (at least for me) at the moment.

Can you download your memory stick/cards at the photo locations in the parks? I really don't feel like dragging along out laptop for a long weekend my wife and I are taking in a couple of weeks, but I fear I may take more pictures than my sticks will hold.

Anyone know if I can off load them onto a CD or DVD at the camera shops at the parks or the gift shops at the resorts?

Yes I believe they will do exactly that. But there is a limit to how many photos they will put on a CD and it is costly. So much so that it is cheaper (if not much cheaper) to just buy more camera memory.

Now I am curious if others agree.

But I have seen great deals on memory over the last year. What type do you need?

I believe that the cost is $13 a CD. Plus, of course, the time you wait while they make it, and the bother of going there (twice if you drop it off and pick it up later.)

At 700 megs a CD, a 2 gig card will take three CDs, or $39. Meanwhile, a new 2 gig SD card can be had for under $15 nowadays (heck, I've been eyeballing 8g cards for $30-35!)... and a 2 gig Memory Stick should be had for under $39.

So either way, you're better off carrying more memory, IMHO, if you don't want to bring a laptop and burn discs nightly (or use a portable device to unload your cards to a disc or hard drive.) Plus, of course, you have the extra memory for future use as well.

Yeah - I found 2gig memory sticks for right around $20 locally. I'll just grab a couple of those before we go.
