Call me nuts but I am thinking of downgrading our catagory from a 9 to either 10 or 11. We currently have cabin 2098 reserved. Since from what I am hearing is that most people hardly spend any time in the room, why go to the extra expense for just a window. Any thoughts from anyone on this, all comments will be appreciated. by the way I'm not cheap I just work for the government!!

thanks
Kat

I liked having a porthole because I liked the natural light..... but if that doesn't bother you then I say save the money for shopping and downgrade!

I too liked the daylight coming into the room. On our first Disney cruise we had a porthole and loved it. The following year we took a cruise on the Carnival Pride and I got an inside room and hated having no light, very easy to oversleep, which I did, being late for a spa appointment. If it is not a real serious money issue for the decision to downgrade, I would stay with the room with the porthole.

Based on our experiences, we've decided that if we're doing a 7-day, we'll spring for the verandah. But if it's a 3 or 4 day, we'll stick with a Category 11. The more days we have on the ship, the more relaxed we tend to be because we have more time --- we enjoy in those instances having the verandah to vedge outdoors privately.

But personally, if it meant being able to just be on the ship, I don't care WHERE I'm at!

See if you can get a secret porthole room. it's obstructed porthole, you still get daylight. It's a cat 10 price.
