Hi All,

Just wondering if it's possible to change a cabin to a lower category after one has passed the PIF date ? Is there any penalty for doing so if it's possible ?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Sally :)

It's best to check with your TA or DCL, whomever you booked your cruise with, to see what penalties there might be and to inquire about the cost difference. You will pay the current rate for the lower category which may or may not save you money, especially if there are penalties involved with the change.

There is sometimes a difference between the PIF date and when the penalty phase starts at the 74 day mark, especially for longer or special cruises. On our upcoming WBTA cruise, we changed our reservation from an onboard booking to a military rate booking after the PIF date but before the penalty phase started and received a refund for the fare difference (though we actually upgraded categories in the process.)
