Down to the last couple days before my trip

HEY JASON

Me again! I do hope you have a wonderful trip! Can't wait to hear about it when you return. Who knows, maybe my trip will happen, but I can't concern myself with it now. I'll just concentrate on the wonderful time we're going to have in Atlanta for our 14th. :goodvibes

Take care,

Denise :sunny:

Denise,

Nice to hear from you again. As the time gets closer I get more and more excited. The great thing is since I basically have everything done, I wont have to run around after work Tue and Wed trying to finish things up and get last minute items bought.

I can just imagine what I'm going to be like Thursday at work.

Jason I know how I was at work the day before a Disney vacation. My boss told me once to go home early before he fired me!! :teeth: I was giddy all day and it was driving him nuts. He did tell me to have a fabulous trip though as I walked out the door. I remember back in 98 when DH and I went to Disney the week before we left, I made $314 in tips. I just very casually mentioned to guests how I was going to Disney with hubby for the first time and couldn't wait and they were all so excited and happy for me. Their tips showed it too. :cool1:

Awww Jason part of me is happy for you, but a bit saddened for me. You know why. Anyway...have the best time and be safe.

Congratulations on the ATKINS results!! :cheer2: :cheer2: That's a lot of hard work and you should be very proud of yourself!!

sweetinmaine,

I like the idea of not having to use my debit card to much while on vacation. This way I won't have to use it at all, and can use my room key instead.

Hi,

Well everything is now pretty much taken care except for buying my AP pass at the airport.

I just paid off my room with my debit card, have $1250 in travelers checks, of which $1000 will be turned in at the front desk at CBR to put on my room key for meals and souveniors, $100 to be used for my town car to and from MCO and the other $150 pocket money for whatever.

The great thing is no after vacation bills since it is all being paid for in cash.

Jason, this is my first post here. My family and I will be staying at POFQ Sept. 24th-Oct. 1st. This is our first trip, and we are really looking forward to it!

We delayed going until now because we wanted to pay for the trip up front. We saved for two years, and now it's almost time to go. You have done the right thing by paying up front; it does save a lot of worries in your future.

For Jason or anyone else: How do you put the countdown board in your signature line? Also, can you download a customized avatar? Thanks in advance!

Geroge T,

Here is the link and instruction to the countdown timer.

As far as paying it upfront it really is more my preference than anything else. I prefer to have everything on my room card, so I don't have to hassel with ATM's and hold onto charge slips and balance everything out at the end.

sweetinmaine,

Thanks. I just don't like having to do banking type stuff while on vacation and I don't won't a ton of charge slips that I have to take back home with me. The last thing I want to do after a vacation is have to go line by line on my CC statement and make sure everything matches up. I would rather pay cash for everything and enjoy my time at WDW.

Awww...thank you! Hard to believe I've been on Atkins for almost 2 years. Love my results too. I've put a lot of carbs back into my diet, but I'm a lot more aware of when I've had too much. Holding steady where I am and I'm very happy with that as keeping the weight off is the hardest.
I appreciate you noticing my results! :goodvibes

Blessings,

Hi Jason,

Have a great trip! We'll be there at exactly the same time as you. (2/25-3/6) and we are EXCITED! It's our first stay at WL and cannot wait!

The weather looks good so far - when we arrive it's supposed to be 70 and sunny. It's been rainy, rainy, rainy in Los Angeles, so we are looking forward to Orlando weather. (Even with humidity!). It's a partial business trip for us, as we are moving to Orlando in June and are looking to purchase a house when we are there. We meet with our real estate agent on Saturday. If anyone can recommend any neighborhoods - please do so now!!!! We are looking at Clermont currently, but are open to suggestions!

We are going to do the same thing as you and give the hotel a $1,000 towards room charges. The last time we went we used various credit cards and ended up having one of our credit card numbers stolen. Whomever took our number (had to be a wait person, but not necessarily at Disney as we were eating in and out of the world), anyway, they tried to open a cell phone account on our credit card but they did not have the right info to get it, and were denied, and we were contacted. Suffice to say, to this day we still have the inquiry on our credit report, which angers me, but we did learn a valuable lesson. Now we only use (1) card for everything and track daily purchases online to make sure all is OK.

It's scary what can happen. We also make sure we ALWAYS scribble over our credit card number on receipts if printed out on them, and even scribble the 4 numbers they sometimes only show and the expiration date as well. This is the least you can do to help protect yourself from thieves.

Anyway - have a wonderful vacation and I hope we have great weather and manageable crowds!!!! Have you heard through your conversations how it may be? I know it's the very beginning of high season, but I'm hoping it may still be OK. I did hear from my sister in Maine that they are off this week though, so this may add to the crowds. Guess we'll see! Nothing could be as bad as when we were there last April - ugh - that was the PITS! We swore we'd never, ever go back during this month again as it was insane!

Anyway, have a magical vacation!

Best,
Brando & Family :cool1:

Isn't amazing how quick we can spend over $1,000 in park tickets without even thinking about it?
How you feeling today Jason?

DisneyFans4,

I feel great. I was talking to my boss today and he knows how much I've been looking forward to this trip and he is giving me a couple extra days off at the back end of my trip. So I'm now going Feb 25-March 8.

Jason..that's great!! See, your boss even sent some pixie dust your way and the magic is already starting.
I'm so glad your feeling much better and I'm sure once your in Disney you'll feel even better.
Don't forget to let us know how your trip was....

PrinceJohn,

I know what you mean. I just paid $610 on my CBR reservation to have that comepletely paid in full and then went to AAA and got $1250 in TC. That's $1860 that I spent like that with no regret.

our trip is going from extreme to ridiculous. 9000 for 3 rooms, 3000 for tickets and no telling how much for food and stuff...
when we're done, we will have paid Eisner's salary for about 2 hours.

Jason,

We're headed to ASMo on Friday. We paid off our trip ahead of time too - so nice not to return and get the massice CC bill. I like your idea about putting money down on the room to then charge meals. I'm going to tell my DH about it so we don't have to carry a ton of cash around.

Have a great trip! If you are in the parks and hear a woman yelling "Henry!" or "Ruth!" at the top of her lungs, it's me!

DisneyFans4,

I actually went to my boss today trying to see if I could leave Wednesday afternoon instead of Friday and he was going to say yes, but I could tell he was unsure. Then he mentioned would you be will to take those days at the end of your trip instead and extend it. I jumped at the chance, and he told me that I had earned the time off and enjoy.

This means I will be at WDW 12 days/11 nights :dancer: :dancer:. I'm sorry to say that this means that the trip report I was going to post on 3/6 will have to wait until 3/8, but I'm sure you can all understand way.
