Down time at disembarkation

We are on the 3 day 5/15. Our return flight on the 18th is a 4:00pm flight, so I think we'll have a few hours to kill. We'll have 6 adults and 4 kids. Any advice or suggestions?

Two fun places to spend some time are Downtown Disney or Celebration. There is lots of shopping and good food at DD, and the downtown of Celebration is a really neat area with shops, restaurants, a lake where you can rent paddleboats, walking trails, etc.

I like the Downtown Disney idea too. We love to spend time there. There is a lot to do, see, and eat there and still have the pixie dust before returning to reality.

I have another suggestion that I learned from this discussion board. The Hyatt at the airport has day rates of $60.00 per room. You can check in at 9:00 am and check-out is at 6:00 pm which will cover your stay. I hear they have a beautiful outdoor pool and since the hotel is right inside the airport, there are no shuttles to worry about.
I'll be on the 5/17 7 day Eastern and have already reserved our room. Some airlines don't allow you to check your luggage until 4 hours before the flight, so with the room, there's someplace to keep the bags. I figure, we can enjoy the pool for a few hours, shower and change, check in for our flights and have a nice leisurely lunch without having to lug our carryons along. After lunch, we can check-out and get ready to board.
With 6 adults in your group, you can split the cost of the room and it will only cost $20 per couple plus taxes.

All great ideas, thanks. We will be using Disney Transportation. Can we still get to DD on the transport? If not, any other suggestions in addition to the Hyatt?

I don't know if the Disney Transportation will take you to Downtown Disney and if they do, there will probably be an additional charge. I would recommend cancelling the Disney transportation and using one of the Limo services. There were 10 of us on a Disney cruise back in January. It would have cost is $59.00 per person to use the Disney Transportation. Instead, we hired Happy Limo and used their 10 passenger van. The total came to $235.00 (tip included). They picked us up at the Amerisuites by the airport because we came in Friday night. It was wonderful. They even make a complimentary grocery/liquor store stop. It was well worth it. This time, there will be 5 of us and we're trying Cartier Town Car and splurging for the stretch limo. It's still cheaper than the Disney Transportation, they meet us at baggage claim and also make the complimentary grocery/liquor stop. I know from what I've read on these boards that if you talk to someone at Happy Limo, Tiffany Town Car, Cartier Town Car or Your Ride, they'll take you to Downtown Disney and then on to the airport when you need them to. You can even charter them for the whole day and it will probably still cost less than the Disney Shuttle.
You can always purchase your Disney Transportation at the airport the day of the cruise in an emergency, so what do you have to lose. You can use the Disney Transportation to get to the terminal on the day of departure and then use a limo service for the trip home. You don't have to book round trip. Good Luck!
