Introduction
To many Walt Disney World is an escape from reality. A sort of, sweet escape from the realities of real life. It is where you come face to face with the great Yeti in Mount Everest. It is where you will hear a monologue on the great movie ride my dad and I have heard so many times we can quote it on command. It is where you can consistently mess up your hair on Test Track no matter how tight your pony tail is. It is where you can ride Splash Mountain as early as you want in the day, dry off, and still be a little damp at the end of the day. This is Disney to me. While it may not sound pleasant to you, it is the familiarity of it all and the magic that it gives to me that makes it great. When you go there, you are like Alice going down the rabbit hole. You are disappearing from miserable, hard times and drifting into a new world of excitement.
Now, if any of you remember my old Trip Reports you probably won’t be too thrilled to subscribe to this one. However, this one will be different. I promise. This one I actually intend to finish. I now have an iPhone. This means that I have a nifty little program called Evernote in which I can write down every single thing we did that day seconds after it happened so I won’t have to remember everything. My best friend is coming with us. She is very camera happy and super energetic about me actually finishing this one. Her family isn’t exactly rich so they have never been to Disney. But, she loves Disney. So she always enjoys reading my trip reports and yells at me for 20 minutes about why I am torturing everyone by not finishing my trip reports. So it will actually be finished this time! I am determined!

Dad.jpg

My dad, despite my beliefs as a young child, is not named Dad. His real name is John and he was born in Tibidoe, Louisiana on July 25, 1969. That means that when we go in August, he’ll be 40 . I have inherited his Cajun and French background and have a flare for spice. Whenever we go visit his brother and the rest of his family (none of us are from St. Louis, yet most of us live there…) my Aunt Dottie always cooks up shrimp etouffee. Everyone always knows not to steal any of my shrimp because they are always covered in cayenne pepper. But, this has nothing to do with my dad so we’ll move on. He falls asleep at 7:30 each night, but at Disney, he does not need sleep to function. Before, he was the one pushing for getting up at 6:00 every morning and coming back to the hotel at 12:00 or later from the parks during EMH. Luckily, he’s eased up the past few years. Now, I can sleep in till 6:15. Nah, I’m just kidding. We get up at fairly reasonable times in the morning according to what park we’re going to and when it opens. He has a good sense of humor and is very athletic.
Favorite Disney Character: The Disney Villains
Favorite Park: EPCOT
Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Disney Movie: Finding Nemo
Favorite Movie: Keeping Mum
Favorite Food: Crab

Seriously the nicest person I have ever met. I know nice is a general word, but she is seriously the nicest person ever. She's 10 months older than my dad and has two MS- one in Religious Studies (ancient Greek, Hebrew) and early childhood education. She will be moving here to DC and I really like her. She is a newbie to Disney and we're starting with the basics- DisneyWORLD is in Florida and DisneyLAND is in California. She'll get better, I promise.

Becca.jpg

Becca (short for Rebecca) has been my best friend since I was born. Actually, before that. Our dads have been best friends since they were 12. When we were younger, we hated each other. With a passion. Well, a very violent passion. She tried to push me down the stairs and she mysteriously would trip every time that she walked by me. Total mystery… She does soccer and is excellent at it. (I would know. Her first time, the last time, she went to Disney we had to share a bed. Our violent passion returned. She soccer kicked me at 2:00 AM, she mysteriously woke up with about an inch worth of sheets, and we both ended up on the floor every morning.) She was born in Cedar City, UT on February 24, 1995. She will be 14 when we go to Disney. Her favorite park is EPCOT. She has only been to Disney once, with me, and is thrilled to come this August. Unfortunately, we have to each come up with $450 by August.
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Her mom's thai chicken salad (let me tell you, that is some of the best dang food I have ever tasted)
Favorite Character: Ariel
Favorite Movie: The Little Mermaid
Favorite Park: EPCOT
Future Occupation: Obstetric Nurse or Pediatrician

Allie.jpg

My name is Allie. I was born in American Fork, UT on July 12. I will be 14 when we go to Disney. My favorite color is green, blue, yellow, and orange. My favorite food is sushi and all vegetables and fruits (yes, I am weird). My favorite Disney movie is a tie between Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. My favorite movie of all time would have to be Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I have never laughed quite so much as I have watching that movie. I function on very little sleep. It is my job to do all the planning, which I take the reigns with stride. My favorite park is Disney Studios. When I am older I want to be a neonatal surgeon.

This Trip
We are in the Disney Vacation Club and our home resort is the Boardwalk Villas. This trip, we will be staying at Pop Century with TWO rooms and FREE dining! We’re a tad bit excited. We will be leaving on August 28th and will return on September 7th.
This will be one last hurrah before we both start High School. So, we intend to make it the greatest one ever.
I can promise every single one of you reading this that I WILL finish this trip report, even if it kills me. Which it might. Just giving y'all fair warning.

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
~Walt Disney

I'm here!
I'm so sad, I know I'm going to Disney World this summer (again) and Disneyland too (ap holders). but I don't know when so I can't do a PTR :(

I'm conning an idea to go next weekend on a whim to DLR tho, we'll see!

Ok....You promised to finish this one!!!!! I'm holding you to it!!!!

I'm gonna be posting another update today, but I haven't finished it (I'm writing it right now).

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

quirky.jpg

I would first like to start this update off by wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. :lovestruc Normally I would not really give a hoot about Valentine’s Day, but my friends are all in the Valentine’s Day mood and won’t stop sending me 10,000 text messages all basically saying the same thing.
**SIDE NOTE ALERT** Yesterday, one of my nearest and dearest friends, Allison, gave all of us a heart-shaped container of warheads. For those who do not know what warheads are, they are death in the form of candy. Now, I am sure you are all wondering why someone would want to eat death in the form of candy. It’s not that they are unhealthy. They are just super sour and make your turn hurt.
Warheads%2050%20cent%20bag.jpg

Anyway, my friend Sami (my school best friend/dance buddy) and I had our warheads with us during first block: French. My French teacher (We’ll call her Mrs. S) is a bit odd. She studied at the Sorbonne (the most prestige French university in the world) and is always telling us that. Always. She is very strange. She will notice if you are using your phone inside the desk (not that I would know or anything:rolleyes1 ). However, like yesterday, she will not really notice much of anything else. Anyway, Sami and I were eating our warheads during French. She didn’t notice us opening the wrappers, making sour faces, having our faces turn red before our eyes, etc. So, we decided to try the most sour flavor of all: Black Cherry. (Let me warn you now. If your child ever comes up to you and tells you try this black cherry flavored candy DO NOT DO IT. It is that flavor that will make you find out why I call them death in the form of candy) So, we open the plastic (Mrs. S doesn’t notice), take out the candy (still oblivious), put it in our mouths (writing something on the board about possessive adjectives), and that is when it begins. Our faces turn bright red, we puckered our lips so much it was a miracle they didn’t permanently stay like that, we look like we’re dying, and guess what? MRS. S DOESN’T NOTICE! The ENTIRE CLASS notices, but she doesn’t. We had tears streaming down our faces it was so sour and she didn’t notice!**SIDE NOTE DONE**
Wow! Sorry about that. I am a bit of a rambler. You will find that out as you continue to read. Yeah, I know, that had nothing to do with being in a Valentine’s Day mood. But I got the warheads for a Valentine’s Day gift! It counts! Anyway, in my first post I told you about me, my dad, and Becca. I gave you short little summaries with some random memories thrown in there. However, I didn’t really give you a sense of who they are. You know Becca plays soccer. But you didn’t know that she is the kindest person I have ever known. You know my dad is turning forty 33 days before we go to Disney. But, you didn’t know that when he first went to Disney as a child he was scared of the characters, unlike his now anti-Disney brother who hugged them all! Well, you will know all of that (and more) after this post full of quirks, memories, and quite a few side notes (You’ve been warned).

Let’s start with me. Yes I know that sounds vain, selfish, and any other synonym you can concoct in your brilliant minds. However, as I am the least important we might as well get it done and over with (see, you KNOW that makes sense). So, let’s start off with my first quirk. I am OCD. I am a grammar Nazi. If you spell something wrong, I will correct it. It’s a reflex. It slips out before I even realize what I’m doing. I have allergies. MANY allergies. I am deadly allergic to horses, wheatgrass, and penicillin. But, there is a complete list of things I am allergic to.

  • Trees
  • Cottonwood
  • Ash
  • Birch
  • Hickory
  • Maple
  • Oak
  • Red Mulberry
  • Black Willow
  • Black Walnut Pollen
  • Sweet Gum
  • Sycamore

    Weeds
  • Lambs Quarter
  • Sage
  • Rough Pigweed
  • English Plantain
  • Ragweed
  • Marsh

    Grasses
  • Bermuda
  • Johnson
  • Kentucky Blue
  • Orchard
  • Sweet Vernal
  • Timothy
  • Red Top

    Environmental’s
  • Dust Mite
  • Cats
  • Dogs
  • Feathers
  • Cockroach
  • Horses

    Molds
  • Alternaria
  • Aspergillus
  • Penicillin
  • Helminthosporium
  • Cladosporium
  • Phycomycetes
  • Pine
  • Rabbit
  • Wheatgrass
And not a single food! Although, I am also lactose intolerant. But I don’t think that’s an allergy…
Another quirk. Certain words bother me. I hate the word Groovy. HATE IT! That’s why I never like staying at POP! in the 70’s section. I also hate chat speak. Do you seriously walk around saying, “OMG thts so gr8!” NO! SO STOP SAYING IT! I hate it when people blow smoke like right in your face when you walk by. I have seriously considered going up and slapping anyone who does that. Especially to the girl with asthma and allergies. The myspace poses. Is it natural for you to walking around with fishy pucker lips? Do you flash peace signs while sitting on the couch watching TV? I also hate when students think they know more than teachers do. Or how people think that they are “going to fail” and then get back a test/quiz with a 100%. Fangirls. Yes, I understand that you think that Edward Cullen is hot. I got it the first 20 times. Now shut up or I will consider strangulation. When people act like they know everything on a certain subject when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about… I also hate nails scratching on certain fabrics. I cringe every time. People who constantly claim they are going to one day be Mrs. Jonas. You want to be married to a whiny playboy? I also have a bit of a temper. Yeah, I know that it sounds like a lot. It’s really not. I just sat down and wrote all of the ones I knew down and saved the file. However, there are certain little things I love.
I love chocolate. LOVE IT! But, I prefer vanilla ice cream. I actually like salad. But I love French fries. I love sitting on the beach and just counting waves. During the summer, I plan to live in Alaska. During the winter, I plan to move to Arizona. I love candy. Sour, sweet, sugar-high, sugar-free; I have a sweet tooth. I am a huge fan of converse (If I were stranded on an island I’d have my converse with me). I love playing the piano. I love ski caps. My favorite ice cream is cool mint with cookie dough and snow caps. I love rain. I love astronomy. I love 24, 30 Rock, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Cold Case, ER, Flashpoint, Friday Night Lights, Gary Unmarried, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Howie Do It, Kath & Kim, Lost, My Name is Earl, NCIS, Numb3rs, Private Practice, Rules of Engagement, Samantha Who, Saturday Night Live, Scrubs, Survivor, The Bachelor, The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, The New Adventures of Old Christine, The Office, The Unit, Two and a Half Men, Without a Trace, and Worst Week. I love my friends. Summer makes me all giddy inside. OK, I think that basically explains me. Now onto our next person!
Now, we’ll move onto Becca. Becca hates being the center of attention. She loves roller coasters and rides that make your heart stop. Yet, at the same time, she is scared of the dark.
**SIDE NOTE ALERT** When we were younger, she could watch Halloweentown (a pretty scary movie for us at our age) without even flinching; yet, she was absolutely terrified of this one Kim Possible episode.**SIDE NOTE OVER**
Also, whenever we’re together it always rains. I’m not quite sure why, but it just does. Sleepover at my dad’s house? It rains. Day in DC? It rains (even on days it’s not supposed to! It’s just strange!) 1st Trip to Disney? Hurricane! (OK, this was technically in August, hurricane season, so I can’t really count that one. There were also some sunny days!) Becca and I were very violent when we were younger as you can remember from my first post. We hated each other and were forced together because of our dads. We’d leave a play date or any other gathering proclaiming how much we hate each other and the next time we saw each other we could not be separated. Becca loves candy, too. She likes chocolate a bit more than me and she’s a little wimpy in the sour department (loves sour patch kids though.) She doesn’t like cake, unless it is her mom’s (OH MY GOSH, Miss Julie/her mom makes the best cake ever!) and she doesn’t like scrambled eggs. But she makes some of the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted (She can’t beat my mom’s though). She loves the color blue and hates the color pink. Yet, she looks better in pink than blue. I dunno why. She has naturally curly hair (like me) and straightens it every morning. She also hates my AMAZING straightener and will always bring her own. It is very rare for her to complain, so when she does you know it is really annoying her. Her best subject is Physics (unlike me), but her worst is math (unlike me.) So, we try and help each other the best we can considering we live in different counties 30 minutes away from each other. She loves reading (like me) and can be a bit more violent than me (we can be pretty violent. Not the kind that will really hurt anybody just when we get irritated or mad. Ya know, short tempers?) She has this one pair of striped green socks that she insists are good luck, but we have yet to see.

My dad is a very strange person. He is extremely indecisive. I guess that’s where I get it from. He changes his mind constantly. He takes me to the bookstore a lot with him so I’ve learned that instead of complaining, I just grab a good book to go off and read. I guess you could say he’s the reason I love reading so much. He likes Harry Potter (like me and Becca) but has not read any of the books (I am the only one out of the three of us who has) so he gets mad when I try and tell him anything (it just slips out sometimes). He has a short temper so I go that from him too. He is an excellent cook, but it took him awhile to actually be able to cook steak. I switch to his house every other Friday for a week, then I go back to my mom’s. To start it off, we see a movie then grab a pint of Ben and Jerry’s to split from Safeway. We try a new one each time to discover the good and the bad. But they’ve been mostly good! He is a computer programmer and has tried to teach me quite a few things. I say the word tried because saying failed would be rude and an understatement. But, at least we know what I won’t be doing when I grow up!

Your posts are so entertaining!
Happy Valentine's Day!

It's really funny how teachers can be oblivious to the most obvious things, and when you're doing something stealthily they always catch you!
Don't worry, I'm a spelling geek, and can't stand mispellings. (Even though sometimes I accidently mispell things myself () , it drives me insane!)

I agree with you on almost everything that annoys you. Haha.
I'm short tempered a lot, too.

Sounds great, can't wait until the next update!

Alright, so I've got all of my plans for this mapped out all the way up until I link y'all over to my trip report

February- I will be posting 4 installments this month so be on the lookout.
March- I will be posting 2 installments this month so be on the lookout.
April- I will be posting 2 installments this month so be on the lookout.
May- I will be posting 2 installments this month so be on the lookout.
June- I will be posting 2 installments this month so be on the lookout.
July- I will be posting 7 installments this month so be on the lookout.
August- I will be posting 2 installments this month so be on the lookout.

Sound good? I swear I will try to keep on top of these as much as possible. You will be getting 7 in July because of four reasons: 1) no school! 2) my birthday gift to you (cause mine is July 12th) 3) I will have more time 4) So close yet so far from my trip and I'll need these to keep me sane.

Thanks for the update! With those allergies, are you sure you're just my Dis Daughter???? My Poor DS has that list plus some foods, too, so it's kinda scarily similar.

Weird. Yeah, I'm just your DIS Daughter. I have to get allergy shots every tuesday :crazy2:

update.jpg

Alrighty y'all, I’ve got a great few months planned for y’all and the way I figure it, y’all would probably like to know what updates are to come, right (man, I say y'all a lot. that's gotta be a record for one sentence)? So in February you have already heard the introductions and the quirkier things in life (well, in our's anyway...). I don’t know exactly when I will give you these updates, but they will be fairly soon and somewhat reasonable (I never said I was completely sane.) So, now, let’s move onto our actual schedule.

In February, you have gotten all your updates. Now I know this is a terrible blow, but I can't give you another update in February since it is NO LONGER FEBRUARY! Sorry :(

**EARNING ALERT** (cue news music)
We interrupt this update (haha that rhymed. well, it did in my head anyway) to bring you an earning alert to show you how much Becca and I have earned so far.
Becca: $100
Me: $107 (Yes, I am proud to say I am ahead by a whole seven dollars. Be jealous)
Becca will be babysitting next Saturday and I looked up a bunch of medications for my grandpa’s lawsuit so I’ll be getting $220 (I would get more, but I gave him a discount that I intended to be 5%, which ended up being 50% so I changed it to 3% but because I cannot operate a calculator correctly it ended up being 30%. I already showed him the price so I can't just go back) for it. So, once I get it, I will have $337. After that, only need $103.
**EARNING ALERT OVER**

In March, you will get four updates, including this one (Meaning about once a week). The first (after this one) will be titled The Adventures of Camera McCamera in which I will post photos of the cameras we will be bringing and the quality of each. My dad will be bringing his Pentax. Becca will be bringing her digital camera (I dunno the name). I will be bringing my digital camera, also (still dunno the name, but both of them are nice and new. Becca's battery, however, is crap). I will also be bring my iPhone which has an awesome camera (and battery) for a phone camera. The second will be titled Luck O’The Irish in which you will get our ethnic backgrounds and our worldly tastes AKA Our Wegman's Adventure. It will also be your St. Patrick’s Day special update (since it is my favorite holiday afterall. I dunno if I mentioned that before but I have now)! The final one will be titled ‘Michael’s Raid’ in which I will post pictures of our autograph books, luggage tags, and our door DISign.

In April, you will get two updates. The first will be Resort Role Call in which you will discover just how indecisive my dad and I are (really, it is quite amazing) The second will be Countdown Constructions where you’ll get to see all of the countdowns I’ve created (and see how much free time I have). Nothing too thrilling or too much. Maybe I'll add a bonus during Spring Break but I'm not sure yet. My friends and I have like nine movie marathons planned so I'm not sure how awake I'll be.

In May, you will get one update. It will be titled Rapid Readers. It will tell about the collection of Disney Guide books we have and all the Disney craziness that is us. Sorry to only give you one, but in May is our SOLs and it is the month before exams (unlike SOLs, I have exams in EVERY SINGLE CLASS including Chorus and Gym). So, pretty much, I will be very scarce on the boards. Don’t worry, once summer arrives you will be bombarded with updates.

In June, you will get only one. It will basically happen once school gets out and tell all about exams, the school year, and be excited to finally be done with middle school. Then, of course, tell you about how happy I am for summer to finally be here which may take up six pages on Word.

In July, you will get six updates. "Why so many?" you may ask. There are three reasons. 1) It is my dad’s birthday month. 2) Summer=Free time. 3) It’s my birthday month! The first you will get is called Schedule Shmedule where I will show you our ADRs planned out. I would do this sooner, but I can’t get park hours until 90 days before our trip. (Which is not completely locked in considering nobody seems to know when High School Orientation is going to be). The second is Birthdays in which you will get to see what basically happens on my birthday and everything involved. The third is Must Do’s the MK Edition, which I think is pretty self explanatory. It will go on like that until we talk about all of the parks.

In August, you will get three updates. The first will be So Close and Yet So Far in which I will have a pity party (yes, you are invited) and complain all about how close our trip is and yet so far. If you don't want to hear a person whine and complain I don't suggest reading it. Then you’ll get Another Shopping Song in which you will see just how much I hate going shopping. You will also see us shopping for necessary materials and get more complaining in between it all. Such fun! Then you’ll get Packrats in which I will show you everything I am packing, how I am packing, and see the master list. You will also see that despite the fact I hate shopping I truly am a teenage girl.

I dunno about you, but I personally cannot wait.:cool1:

Looking forward to more!
