Down comforter

Which is the best down comforter for the money. Looking for quality, but, not interested in spending $800 for it. When is the best time to buy - now, after the holiday?

Quite honestly, we bought a down alternative comforter off of Overstock.com a few years ago and it is just as good, if not better, than our original down one in that it is just as warm, but does not shed the hated feathers all over.

I think we paid just under or just over $100 for it. Go with one with good reviews and you should be happy with it.

I have a wool comforter. I bought it from overstock. I think it was $100ish. It's like a down comforter but filled with wool instead of down. It's very soft, fluffy and warm. No shedding of feathers is a big plus.

Ikea's are pretty good - ESPECIALLY for the price. There are several different weights to choose from. They've held up well for my kids.

I just ordered a twin down comforter from Eddie Bauer (along with flannel sheets) it was on sale for $144 from $199. It has a silky border. I can't wait until it comes, it's getting colder by the minute! They also have an oversized throw for $59..Good luck!

All great ideas thank you. Going to definitely buy down - I will look at the sites. Does anyone know if the Company Store will have a sale after Christmas or better to buy with 15% and free ship? I have been contemplating a few on there

I bought mine from Target last year a Queen size for $90, I love it.

Ikea's are pretty good - ESPECIALLY for the price. There are several different weights to choose from. They've held up well for my kids.

I was going to suggest Ikea, too. We have their duvet and it has sled up really well for over 8 years. I think we paid $60.

I just bought this down comforter for DD's Christmas gift at Macys. It's currently $400, but I only paid $150 during their friends and family sale. Guess I got a better deal than I thought! In any case, this makes me suspect that it will go on sale again.

Got great reviews, and I'm eager for DD to start using it. It's been so cold here that I've been tempted to give it to her early.
