So we have a pair of dove's that have taken up nesting on our hurricane shutter tracks...there is a nest over the front door and over one of our master bedroom windows! So what does that symbolize (if anything)...

How cool!! My grandmother told me a long time ago that if doves nest on your property it means your guardian angels are telling you they're close by. And if they nest near your bedroom window, you're going to become preggers!

It means you will be woken up by cooing annoyingly early until you find some way to get rid of the nest. They are nasty birds, just as bad as pigeons. I would get rid of them before they do any damage.

We have a dove that nests on our neighbor's roof. I love it. Probably because I once went to a psychic for fun and she told me my dad would send a dove to me to let me know he is still with me. Six months later in the spring a dove did come nest next door. and now that dove wakes me up and I smile when it does. Its very beautiful. After my mom died, it became two doves.

I have since heard a dove is supposed to be your guardian angel and I do often find when I am thinking about and missing my parents, I hear the cooing.

Love it but if it makes me get pregnant, I'll have to shoot them!

That, and you'll learn pigeon poo is acidic and eats through paint - if you let it stay too long, you'll be repainting your shutters.

It means you are going to be annoyed by birds, cleaning up poop, and then repairing where they nested after they leave.

I would also get rid of them.

Wow, you guys really know how to take the romance out of flying animals that can aim when they poop! :snooty:
:rotfl2:

Personally, I hate all birds. It seems that no matter where I go, they either poop on me, or attack me for my hot dog. True story right in Epcot near the Brittish Pavilion. I had just bought a hotdog and a drink - a seagull swooped down, smacked me in the face, and took my dog. At least I bought a drink too...

On a happier note, I remember walking home from school and getting up to my garage, and every so often there would be a dove on the roof. It was kinda nice. At least he didn't poop on me....

I agree, it means a mess is coming your way. I love birds, but doves are messy and noisy.
