We are torn between these 2 properties for our upcoming vacations, I would appreciate your views on either. Thanks

I was looking at Double Tree Sea World and it looks like a old Coronado/Carribean Beach Club knock off.

Hilton Grand I've stayed there before. Nice place but if you are far from the pool/clubhouse area it can be quite a walk.

The Double Tree walking distance to Universal is really cheap right now (although they charge for parking)

Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando Theme Parks (which is next to Hilton Grand and Sea World) is really cheap also and I like their setup and rooms. If I had to pick when you factor in price this is where I would stay in the Sea World area.

Is there some reason that you want to stay in the Sea World area and not the Disney or Universal areas?

We are at Hilton Grand Vacations right now. We are DVC owners and do a cash trip to supplement when our points are low.

This place is....AMAZING. Truly we are blown away. We ARE far from the clubhouse but there isn't anything there we need. We are in Warwick house right in front of the quiet pool so it's perfect. Our room is HUGE, spotless and gorgeous. We are impressed by their cleaning protocols and their mask enforcement. We booked a King studio and about 3 days before our trip we got an email inviting us to upgrade for $12 a night to a king suite (1 bedroom) via their e-standby program, so we figured why not? We only paid like $89 for our room anyway. The upgrade...wow. The suite is just...wow! The staff is so friendly and helpful. We just go a knock on our door and it was a balloon bouquet and candy sent up from the front desk for DH for his birthday. I never noted on our reservation that today is his birthday...I happened to mention it when chatting with a staff member at check in YESTERDAY. She must have remembered and sent it!

So convenient to SW and D.C. We are heading to Disney Spings in a little bit. Very happy with our choice here.

Yes, if DVC didn't have the parks right outside their doors they'd be in real trouble compared to HGVC and Marriott. I'm still sorry that my dad sold his Marriott weeks.

Hi! About how long did it take you to drive to Disney Springs? This is one of the hotels I'm looking at for January but DH is worried that it's "pretty far away" from the Springs!

5 minutes? It is SUPER fast. DS is the next exit off I-4 after you get on I-4 right at the Hilton. It's RIGHT THERE. We may stay here for all our non-DVC cash stays. It was THAT good.

I'd say more than 5 minutes.
More in the 20 minute range (without traffic) from parking lot to parking lot.

Nope. About 5 minutes. Technically 7ish. AND I noted when we we pulled onto I-4 "oof...looks like there's some theme park traffic".

AND, I just jumped on Google maps to make sure I wasn't having a vacation-induced day dream...7 minutes according to Google maps.

Are you driving at 90 mph? :moped:

Distance says 11 miles.

It depends on time of day and day but right now it's saying 16 min:

Could you both be talking about a different Hilton Grand Vacation? One speaking about Parc Soleil and one talking about Las Palmeras?

That exit dumps you right out at the garage. It is NOT a 20 minute drive. It is not a 15 minute drive. It's not even a 10 minute drive. It is closer than many Disney resorts. The OP's husband has nothing to fear about it being too far to DS from this hotel.

I'm still getting 11/12 min door to door. I find 5 min hard to believe because it take about 2 minutes just to find a parking spot in the green or orange parking decks unless you are going right at open.

11 min (4.6 mi) via I-4 W
12 min (4.6 mi) via Palm Pkwy

Sorry. Can't help you. It is what it is.

Double Tree Disney Springs to Disney Springs is 3 min (0.7 miles)
So when you include in finding parking at the parking deck that in itself is 5 min
And Double Tree Disney Springs is much closer than Hilton Grand Vacation.
It is what it is.
