We've stayed at both and I would highly recommend the Hyatt over the Doubletree...the hotel and rooms are much nicer IMO and the Hyatt has a DL shuttle, don't know if the DT has one.
Have a great trip![]()
I haven't stayed at either one, but I bid on priceline for our trip in July (3 1/2 star hotels in anaheim) and got the Doubletree. Honestly I was hoping for the Hyatt or Crowne Plaza, but we got a good deal so hopefully it all works out. The reviews and pictures on TripAdvisor all look really good and it shows that they do have a DL shuttle. I will be glad to give you a report on it when we return, but it will be a few weeks.![]()
I bid on Priceline as well for upcoming July trip. I got the hyatt. Just to let you know, I called the front desk and they said I could upgrade to a suite or kidsuite for $25-40 a night. We are still undecided about the upgrade. I will post pics when we return on JUly 19 th! HOpe you enjoy your first trip. DLR is magical!!
If you are looking for either of those hotels, I would definitely suggest using Priceline. I'm staying from the 7-12 of august at the Hyatt at a great rate of $41 per night. Definitely research some bidding sites (betterbidding or biddingfortravel)
I'm looking forward to staying at the Hyatt, but the Doubletree was good in my opinion. The rooms are pretty large and nice enough. There is a free shuttle from there as well that goes to Disneyland. Also the Block at Orange is right next door and there are a lot of nifty shops/restaurant/entertainment.
Our trip is at the same time! I noticed that u have stayed at the DL resort several times . We really wanted to stay at the GC but just don't wanna spend that much money! Looking for the nicest hotel close with a nice price too! We have stayed at the GF,WL,and the CR at WDW and are looking for something to those nice hotels
Torgue: I sent you a PM with a bidding strategy. Hope that helps.
Ok, well things did not go exactly how I planned . We moved our trip from August to October. I placed a bid on priceline at $41 and won! And we have a little problem. The hotel is the Crowne Plaza. I had only done a little research on this hotel. I called the front desk today to check on the reservation. I requested a room with 2 queen beds and they said that there is no way of knowing what type of room that we will recieve until we check in but she will add the request. I can't imagine all three of us sleeping in a King Bed together for an entire week. We will be miserable and get no sleep! Any suggestions? I am very disapointed and thinking about just booking a suite at the Doubletree and eating the $200 at the Crowne Plaza ?
