If they have refurbished the patio suites on the first floor, ask for one of those! You will have sliding patio doors and a big patio with furniture to sit out on. But, only if they have finished refurbishing them. WHen we were there in Sept, we got one of those rooms and it was really nice. We walked outside and right to the pool and arcade. When we were there, it looked like they had started fixing them up, but had a lot more to do, construction wise. (repairing walls and such)
Make sure you sign up for the frequent stays program. Even if you do not stay there a lot, it will help with your requests.
They are nice, big two room suites. There is a small b&w tv in the bathroom that we found was great for catching the morning weather reports while we got ready for the day. There are built in dressers that can hold lots of clothes and a nice sized closet for hanging clothes or storing luggage. The pool was nice. Not your run of the mill standard rectangle in the ground, but it doesn't have a waterslide, either.
Even with the refurbishing going on, we loved it there and would gladly stay again for the right price. (we stay cheap for a few nights and then usually splurge on a deluxe the last few nights of our vacation) The staff was wonderful! Very helpful in anyway they could be of service. The location is great! right down the street from the crossroads where Jungle Jim's and a TGIF are located. That is just down the street from a new Winn Dixie and liquer store. You can walk to DTD, but I prefered to drive or take their bus. The bus took forever to get there one night, but the rest of the time, it was on time.
