Doubletree Hotel

We're staying at the Doubletree Hotel on Major Blvd across from Universal this weekend --going with my DD's chorus. I read some bad reviews there on tripadvisor.com. Anyone stayed there recently? I'm hoping the few bad experiences posted and not the good ones.

We stayed there in june of last year and had no problems cause I read the same thing you did and that was moldy rooms and stuff like that but didn't find it and staff was helpful and head maid was great cause anytime DW would ask for anything she went out of her way.
If it is busy then the pool does get crowded and the nice and relaxing area around the pool and they do have 2 resturants onsite but never went to we went to the cracker barrel across street or tgi fridays.
Its not a bad hotel and we are even going to stay there 2 days in July.

I was just there last week. Looks like they've just completed some major renovations . . . I had no complaints . . . It was a good hotel for the price . . . Service was great . . . Chain restaurants close-by and within walking distance to the parks (they run a free shuttle which we avoided). Cab fare was under $5.00 . . .

Thanks for those positive reviews! Our package with this music festival includes breakfast every morning at the hotel restaurant - did anyone eat there and enjoy it?

We just got back from our stay at the Doubletree - Wow!!! It's a great hotel! Our room was spotless and smelled nice - very cold A/C too. The hotel restaurant had a nice breakfast buffet. There's also a Starbucks, Hershey Ice Cream, and Pizza Hut Express. I could see the Hard Rock Hotel, Portofino Bay, the Universal parking deck, the Hulk, and Dr. Doom from our room.

The pool area is nice, nothing fancy. The pool is huge!

I'd highly recommend this hotel for a good offsite choice!

Glad you liked the Doubletree and its nothing fancy but we think its a great hotel too
