Has anyone stayed at this hotel? It looks like a neon fruit basket!

We have a rate of $55 a night for late April. I've usually been happy with Doubletrees, but what is a Doubletree "Club"?

We are mostly concerned with cleanliness and wear and tear, rather than the pool, etc.

Thanks!

It looks more like a "hotel by the hour" to me.

I have not stayed there but just saw it last week. It is not somewhere I would stay based on the looks and location IMHO. It looks kind of seedy. I was very suprised it was a Doubletree.

Thanks for the information. I am surprised a Doubletree would look seedy, too.:(

I've stayed there several times. It's far from seedy, not sure where you got that from? It's a tropical look, hence the large pineapple. The rooms are colorful and large. Clean, with fridge and micro in the rooms. They also have kids suites. The lobby has a large business center in it, a lounge, gift shop, small arcade, and an Au Bon Pan in it. The staff has always been wonderful there! That's a great rate you found, I have never gotten it so low in April. They are renovating their pool soon, you might want to check when they'll be finished. The location is great, right across from Crossroads plaza, easy to get to DTD and the parks from there.

BTW, a Club Doubletree is Doubletree's version of their Non-suite no frills hotel. Usually catering to business travelers, although this one has more to offer then most Club Doubletree hotels.

:hyper: Thanks, Cheryl! Whew!

I'm glad to hear that you gave it thumbs up. I am going with 3 other ladies from work to a conference. In order for them to afford the park hoppers and go, at our own expense, a couple of days early, I had to find a really good rate somewhere. I got that rate a month ago on the Hilton web site, as an AARP rate. (Yes, the sad truth is that I'm now a member. )

The last time we went from work, in 1998, we stayed at the Old Town Days Inn Suites for the same reason, and it was terrible! Talk about seedy! I was hoping not to make that mistake again.

Oh, and the pool is not a problem. We don't go swimming anyway.

I just found that the rates have gone up to $90 per room. We were lucky to get two rooms at $55.00 each!

We stayed here about 4 years ago, they were having their Grand Re-Opening. It had been refurbished I guess. We were very pleased and the location is great for an off-site hotel. Very clean, the pool wasn't much compared to what we were used to staying at Disney, but the little deli/lunch counter was good. We didn't use their bus transportation, we drove our own car into the parks, so I'm not sure how well their system works. Seemed like the buses were pretty crowded. If we could get a great rate again, I'd stay there again. Enjoy!

Oh yeah, my son loved the Fruit Salad look of the hotel. And it was not too hard to find, you definitely won't miss finding this one!

make sure you sign up for Hilton honors at the web site, if you don't already have it!
have fun!

I am a member of Hilton Honors, but thanks anyway! We will also have a rental car, since none of us like waiting around for transportation.
