I just purchaed this on Hotwire for $44 a night. While it was exciting pre-purchase (not knowing which hotel I would get), now I am wondering if anyone has stayed at the DoubleTree Club and what your opinion is. My pre-purchase thinking was that it might be the former Courtyard, now Holiday Inn, where I have stayed in the past. Any information anyone can give me about the DoubleTree Club Hotel would be appreciated! (This is a ladies only trip, including my sister and a friend.)

when was the last time you stayed at the holiday inn(old courtyard) and how was it?????

Personally I think the Club Doubletree is much nicer then the CYM/HI. It's bright, colorful, large rooms. Great staff. Nice lobby, Au Bon Pain inside, great business center.

lijory, we stayed at the Courtyard (now Holiday Inn) in September. Our room was large and clean. We especially liked having another vanity outside the bathroom. We had a nice balcony, too, and could see fireworks from there. The staff was very nice. We had no problems at all and it was especially great because we paid only $20.03 a night!

We just stayed at the Doubletree Club the first couple of nights in January. We had no problems with our room whatsoever. The rooms are very tastefully decorated & are bright & clean. We were on the 6th floor facing Epcot (could see Spaceship Earth from our window). One night I sat on the heater by the window and watched Illuminations. We've also stayed at the Courtyard (past September) and we loved our room at the Doubletree Club more than our room at the Courtyard. The room at Doubletree just seemed more cheerier. Just be forewarned about the outside appearance of the hotel - it is painted a BRIGHT YELLOW (hey! you can't drive by it that's for sure!) with a big pineapple on the front of it! It's pretty funky! But the inside of the hotel is nothing like the outside :) :) Have fun! You got a great rate of $43 for a nice hotel. The location is great if you are spending time at DTD. Right across the street from the hotel is Crossroads Plaza. There are shuttle buses as well, and an Au Boi Pan (sp?) inside the hotel lobby.

Could you tell me what ammentities were listed on hotwire for this Double Tree? Thanks

vgsmom - Here is what I pulled from the betterbidding website:

3.5* DoubleTree Club Orlando - Lake Buena Vista
Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Business, Laundry

It doesn't list pool for some reason; but it does have one.

Hope this helps you!

Thanks so much for the information, Kimberly. I'm feeling really good about staying there now. We'll be there on the 23rd of February. I hope we get a room facing Epcot, too. That would be SO neat!

I just returned from a one night visit at Doubletree Club. It was Great. It is very close to many restaurants. We ordered wings to go at Hooters and brought them back to the hotel. We had a suite so we had a living room. It was a really great night.
Hope you have a great time.
They do have hair dryers and coffee pots.

Have fun

Thanks for the info, July. I didn't know they had suites. That's good to know!

I was looking at this hotel too. Is it walkable to DTD? Also, what are the shuttles like? free, schedule, etc?

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't walk to DTD, but then maybe I'm lazy LOL. The hotel does have free shuttle service to the parks and the outlet malls.
If you did decide to go to Pleasure Island I'm sure that a taxi would be reasonable considering the distance.

I read somewhere that they are going to be renovationg or did renovate the pool. That may be why it's not listed. You may want to call the hotel if you need a pool.
