I am trying to get info from you 'pros' about what kind of double umbrella stroller I can get. I was hoping to find one that woudl fold easily and had baskets underneath....is this asking too much?

I am taking 3 foster children ages 11 months, 9 months, and 2 years old PLUS my own dd who are 17 and 13. Some call us crazy but we are doing this and feel confident its gonna be alright.

My dh will be using an ECV due to his RA, OA (his joints could never handle the walking). That is why I am looking for an easy fold stroller to take with us on the bus and in the park, rather then wait til we get to a park and have to rent one.

We are going to WDW Dec 16-25th, 2006, staying at the ASMu. We cant wait! The 2 year old LOVES Mickey Mouse and Goofy (ickey ouse and goosey, as he calls them....lol)

I just cant wait, even tho they may be small, WE will capture the memories for them!

Thanks a bunch!

HI

What you guys are doing is so awsome :thumbsup2

The lightweight foldable double strollers can be really expensive but there are tons to choose from.

If you don't mind a suggestion I know that Babies R us used to carry a set of plastic clips which allow any umbrella stroller to be made into a double, (or triple , 2 is still young to do all that walking).
I found a link for you in case you are interested:

I've never used these but I've seen parents with them at WDW before and they looked just as easy as any other stroller. In fact I bet they are easier since they can be split up and 1 carried by each person there. Also, the added benefit is that if you pick up some cheap Wal-mart strollers you can always grab the clips & leave the strollers behind at the end of your trip.

As far as the basket on the bottom, I found a neat accessory at Baby Catalog which allows you to add stuff on. Check out thge cooler bag at the botton of the page.

Whatever you choose, have a wonderful trip. :dance3:

We have the Chicco Citta Twin and are pleased with it. They run about $115 to $150 you just have to watch for sales. I ordered ours from baby universe during a free shipping event with a discount coupon. The only drawback is that it weighs about 30 lbs, so carrying it while folded is a little tricky and folding it takes some practice. It does, however, have independently reclining seats, sunshades and two storage baskets.
I am planning on taking it to WDW in March. We use it around the neighborhood and when we go to the mall. It is comfortable for them and works very well.
So many people love the maclaren, but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a stroller we would only be using for 18 months at the most.

Have a wonderful time

We too have the chicco citta twin (also bought on sale at baby universe) and I'd give it a thumbs up. :thumbsup2 It's not the lightest out there I'm sure, and it's a bit of a pain to fold (though not too terrible once you get the hang of it), but as the op said - it has the shades, the baskets & the independent reclining seats (came in handy a LOT at WDW when DS was napping and DD was not). It folds quite compactly, which I like as well. I also bought a prince lionheart cupholder to attach to the stroller before heading to WDW, and bought a rayshade to use as well - those little shades that come on most strollers just do not provide adequate shade for the kiddos. My blond hair/blue-eyed kids just couldn't have taken all of that sun! The rayshade was AWESOME! Anyway, sorry, got off track there. The chicco is well worth the money I think. You could get something lighter and easier to fold I'm sure, but it would cost quite a bit more.

I bought the connector that a previous poster mentioned. I think I got it from babycenter.com. We already have one umbrella stroller and we'll buy a second at some point before our trip. Our 4 year old gets tired very easily so we'll really need 2 strollers. The next one I buy will have a basket if possible and a shade cover.
