Thinking of getting a double stroller for our vacation next May. Anyone know if a double stroller can be wheeled on the monorail or would we need to fold it up? Our dds will be 2 & 4.5 so we want a double stroller so theres room for dd4.5 just in case. I know for the buses we'll have to fold it up and the boats are not a concern because we won't be taking any I don't think.

We have a Maclaren twin and if you are taking the monorail, you can ask the CM's ther if it would be possible to go in the handicapped areas..as long as there aren't anyone there that needs them. It usually isn't a problem at all, and then you can wheel it right on. If you can't get into that area, you will have to fold it up.

You'd have to fold it up to fit on the monorail. We went last May with my dad in a wheelchair and getting a handicap area was tough, they were always full (maybe it was just a busy week??).

I found Disney with our double (a sit n stand) was a royal PITB!! I did not want to bring it the next time so bought the Peg P3 so DD could stand on the back. Much easier!

We took our Graco double side by side Dec 11-18 05 and didn't have any problems with the monorails or boats. It was starting to get pretty crowded near the end of our vacation but it still wasn't an issue. A couple of times CMs directed us to the handicapped access, and a couple fo times dh went ahead and folded it just becuase the girls didn't want to sit in it anyways. One of the narrower ones where the kids sit in front of one another would probably be easier to fit but I find them harder to steer around objects (like the center of the monorail). I'm looking at getting a Jeep side by side umbrella for our trip this Dec. It's only $80 www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266102&cp=2255983.2256189.2256200&parentPage=family

It does lack an under basket, but that's what package delivery is for right? :-) And there are side pockets for some storage.

We took a Graco Duoglider (front to back double) in April and took it on the monorail with no problems. We didn't have to use the handicapped cars either. It worked great for us!

As a mom of twins, I'd say with your oldest at 4.5, I wouldn't spend over $35-40 on a double stroller.

They will fit anywhere a wheelchair does, but they are a pain to manuver around in stores and they are hard to use on sidewalks if the people in front of you are window shopping or looking around a lot.

Cheap Walmart Umbrella would be my recommendation, if you have another adult with you. I'd only use a s/s double if I were alone, and at this point (my twins are 4.5) I would only take a single umbrella for the twin with SN and the other one would walk.

side by side folded up or go to the handicapped car - you can just wheel them on the ferry too!

We buy the cheep umbrella strollers. The last ones came from toys r us and they had a little top and mess bag on back. Babies r us makes clips that clip them together so they make a double stroller. They are not a wide as some are with these slips which makes it nice. It is great. Everyone asks us about tge clips when we are in Disney. They are light weight, easy to fold and fit on the monorail fine. Plus they are cheep! We always hang a bag on the back for drinks and stuff. If it becomes to much or we have a day where we just need one we can unclip them and roll.
