Double Strollers at Disney World Resort (yes, another stroller question)

I don't understand...maybe I'm just being dumb. Why would you need THREE single strollers???

I agree. We don't have the twin Aria but rather the regular Aria. We bought it for our trip to California. It worked very well in LA as well as Disneyland. My daughter was confortable, we pushed and she snacked. This stroller only weighs I think 9 lbs. but not flimsy at all. We will be using the same stroller in Aug. to WDW. The only question I have is is there a larger cup holder that hangs from the handle? The one that came with it seems very narrow.

I haven't read all the posts, so excuse me if I have missed something or are being repeative.

Not all front to back strollers are equal. They are built differently and do different things depending on the stroller--like weight requirements, size of seats, reclining abilities. Check out some at stores near you to see what might work if you are considering one.

Beware of side by sides if you have children that might not want to share their space. We took our double jogger a week ago, loved it, and will take it again. BUT our baby (15 months) did not always appreciate his brother (4yo) sharing "his" space. At home, our 4yo does not use a stroller except when I do my 3.5 miles and then, it is never a problem. Do a search on this board, I made a post about our experience(s) with our double stroller; the thread starts with "just back".

Personally, whatever you do, if at all possible, I would avoid the two stroller issue. It is twice the work and very difficult to keep track of when CMs start moving them around. I don't like the stroller connectors either that are used with umbrellas. IMO, they just don't work very well.

We ended up taking two separate strollers after buying an IStep doulbe jogger. After a couple of turns around the mall we found it too difficult to maneuver in crowds and in smaller areas. So, we went to Toys R Us and bought a Kolcraft single stroller that is smaller than the usual larger Travel Systems that the infant carseats fit on but still had the cupholder/storage on top as well as the basket on the bottom. It also folds REALLY nice (different than larger models) and was VERY easy to carry on ad off the bus. Our 18 mo at the time was perfect for it, but our almost 4 yr old was too big for it for the long haul. For her, we took our larger Graco stroller. If it had just been me and DH with DD's this would have been hard with two strollers, but with my parents along we each took something (either a stroller or a child) and it worked out GREAT! The first moment in the airport we were glad we brought both strollers as we split up first thing for a bathroom break and to get breakfast at different restaurants.

Although we were all like glue at the rides and attractions, we would split up at some stores (World of Disney in DTD for sure) and this proved to be SOOOOOO nice when one was asleep and the other wanted to go do something. If you have help, two strollers ended up being the best route for us.

I love my Peg Perego Twin Aria, but I don't think I'd recommend it in your case. If you're going to have 4 adults, 2 strollers should be fine. Good double strollers are too expensive to use for such a short term. I've never used the Jeep side-by-side mentioned earlier, but I tried the Kolcraft, and it was hideous. It was way too hard to steer, and it was really heavy. The stroller itself wasn't heavy, but it was just hard to push once you put kids in it. Yours are old enough (and I'm presuming heavy enough) that you'll want a good stroller. If you can find a good one for a decent price at a resale shop, it might be worth it, but I've found that they're really hard to find used.

I think I may be the lone tandem stroller lady, but we've travelled in June with a number of combinations of kids from infants to 6 year olds (3 of them the last 2 trips). We didn't use the front tray so the older one could hop in and out no problem, and the little one could lay all the way back. The front seat did recline a bit and our 2.5, 3 or 4 year old (depending on the year) slept no problem when she needed to--believe me, when they're tired there, they can nod off almost anywhere! Plus, with the sunshades on you can create almost total shade for the baby in the back with a light blanket. (You didn't mention when you were going, or maybe I missed it?) The tandems (to us) were much easier to maneuver through crowds, sidewalks and main street shops, although I will say they are not super lightweight from a lifting standpoint. But then again, we were usually folding maybe twice a day, depending on which park we were at. (We stayed at BC and BWV so two of the parks are walkable if you want.) Friends who were with us had an almost 4 and baby in I think one of those Cosco dark green double umbrellas and they were struggling a little with the weight difference, crowds, and going over grooves and bumps. Just my .02, but probably you won't go wrong with whatever you choose because it's really whatever you are most comfortable with. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Another vote for a SBS...We used a Chicco Velocita model ($100 online...shipped!!!) on our last trip in May and our kiddos were 3 1/2 and 21 months...We have a Schwinn double jogger at home, which we absolutely love. However, as we felt it would be a bit bulky at WDW, we went ahead and bought our "Disney" Chicco stroller and are so glad we did so. (Using it again in September!!! ) The seats recline independently and we had no problems at all getting it around the parks, shops, monorail, airport, etc. Alot of people mistakenly thought we had a MacLaren because the fabric was striped! Also, this stroller folded up/out very quickly at bus loading, etc. I cannot tell you how many people I saw struggling with the tandem style strollers, as they had to lift them up over heads on the buses sometimes to get up the aisle! Most times, they ended up using seating space just to hold the stroller up and out of the way...Not great/comfy for kids to sleep if in the front seat as well! SBS would be my recommendation! Another fan of the Peg Perego Aria Twin.

SBS, very light weight, easy to maneuver, plenty of storage underneath. We have taken it on several disney trips and very easy to fold, carry and setup.

We purchased our last one new on ebay for quite a savings.
