I have a McClaren Double Stroller. My concern is theft. It is an expensive stroller (as are many double strollers). It is very convenient.

OR Do I go out and buy 2 cheap umbrella? I just think about having close and open 2 seperate strollers (like going on a bus) being incovenient.

Plan to spend 1 day at a park w/ both small children w/o my husband (while golfing) and I think it would be easier w/ the double stroller but worry about having it stolen.

What are your thoughts?

It was easier for us to have 2 umbrella strollers. They were quick and easy to fold up and it was easier to get through the crowd with those 2 than 1 double. If you do get umbrella strollers for the trip be sure to get the ones with the canopy on top.
Then when we just had 1 in stroller we got a Kolcraft--like a an umbrella but a bit bigger with a reclining seat and a basket underneath. It was pretty easy to fold up as well.
We never had any problems with stroller theft but that not to say it doesnt happen occasionally.

We have decided on 2 Mac Triumph singles vs te double bc of the easier maneuverablility in the crowds, but dh will be there with we. If u decide to go with 2 singles, buy the umbrella stroller attachments that connect 2 singles(it is like $8-12, I think at BRU). Look for an umbrella with a canopy and recline.

If you are taking the buses a lot (versus the monorail or walking to parks), then I'd consider the 2 umbrellas. We always take our double stroller, but our twins were 7 mos. old, then 13 mos. old, then 18 mos. old for our trips, so we thought our comfy double stroller from home would work the best (it did!). I suspect as kids get older, though, other strollers may work just fine. We've learned to utilize the monorail and it works very well with the double stroller. You can just roll it right on and off the monorail, no unloading it and folding it up. Even if you end up taking the 2 umbrellas, make sure to seek out the monorail! It's very handy with the little ones and strollers!

PS: we have never noticed a problem with theft of strollers. I was also concerned for our first trip, so we used a bike lock, until we got sick of it, LOL!

We have the Mac Twin Traveler and brought it to Disney twice with no problems. We loved it. Super easy to use,on both buses and monorails, no problems at all. I say go for it.
