When we go to Disney next year we will have a 5 1/2 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old. I do not want to rent a stroller at disney because of all the other walking you have to do, so can anyone recomend anything? Something light weight, but made to handle more weight. THey are not heavy kids right now they are 32lbs, and 23lbs. I know that we may just have to get 2 strollers, but if there are any suggestions that would be great! Thanks:thumbsup2

Wow, a 5 1/2 year old that only weighs 32 pounds. My 4 1/2 year old weighs 42 pounds.
I was going to recommend 2 strollers because of the weight, I can't hardly push my two in a double stroller, especially not all day. We are going with two umbrella-type strollers for my 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year olds.

My son is 5 1/2 (weighs about 39 lbs.) and my daughter will be 2 1/2 when we go (she weighs about 32 lbs.). I will be taking my Joovy Sit n Stand with us on our trip. I use it everywhere. I don't find it hard to push or steer (except for when I put a 3rd child on it). The only bad thing about the stroller that I have heard others complaining about on here is when it is folded up it doesn't roll - the wheels lock. People say it is a pain when doing the buses.

We took our sit and stand last September with our 5 and 3 year olds. It worked great - when we all went to the same place. My 5 year old wanted to ride Splash Mtn and Big Thunder Mtn and my 3 year old wanted to spend all day in Fantasyland. This year we'll be taking 2 singles.

That is their weight NOW. I figure that my oldest DS won't put on 10lbs in a year though. He is pretty skinny. So I figure they will be just under 40 lbs and the other around 30 lbs???

WE just got back and we used a Sit and Stand Stroller we bought at Target! It was AWESOME! Our kids are 2.5 adn 4.5 and we highly recommend it!

I was going to buy a sit and stand stroller for our December trip, but I found a Combi side by side double at a consignment sale and decided to go with it. The main reason is that both kids can recline and have a true seat. I used it yesterday at the mall and it was great! It folds smaller than our tandem stroller and I think it is even smaller than our single. My kids are 5.5 and 3 and weigh 43 and 32 pounds. I was worried that after a long day we would have difficulty with only one getting a real seat. This will be great!

This is the one that I use with my dds and as you can see from my sig they are 6 and 3 I bought mine at TRU they have them on display there and BRU if you have one near you. Mine is black which isn't the greatest for disney but I have found that walmart has it in grey. The seat reclines and the back paney rolls up to make a small pillow and reveals a breathable mesh panel and it is completely nylon.

So that is not too small for your 6 yr old? I looked at this yesterday online, but I was wondering if the wheels are hard to manuver because they look really small? Are they? What do you do with out a basket though? I think that is something that we can not do without. We put our backpack in there, because we generally find it too hot to wear it.

Oh and what is TRU and BRU? Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your replies and suggestions. I looked the sit and stand up and that is an option for sure! I will have to check out consignment stores to see if I can find anything too. We don't want to spend a whole lot since we are done having kids. Thanks again!

I noticed the sit n stands sell pretty well on ebay...if you keep the original box you bought it in you could pack it back up in that and sell it. We figured we might be out $30/40 or so by selling it as "used only once". Probably would end up about the same as renting strollers for the week. Just an idea. We were going to do that with the Target Sit n Stand but then a girlfriend sold me hers for a great price.

I love this stroller so much more the the duoglider that I have it rolls great that is one reason why I don't mind mentioning it my dd3 weighs 32lbs and dd6 weighs around 40 I have two mesh bags from single strollers that we have but you could actually strap two backpacks behind each seat.

BRU BabiesRUs

I have a DS1 who weighs 28lbs and a DS 2.5 who weighs 34lbs and we have a Chicco Citta Twin...we got ours at Target, right now they have free shipping and a 10% off coupon at coupon cabin dot com, so delivered it makes the price $130. The seats each go to 40lbs. We found the Jeep stroller just a little too flimsy for us and no storage baskets. The Chicco is so great comapred to my tandem. Steers easily, folds small and has baskets underneath. There is really nothing I can think of to compain about it, it is great!

I got a Joovy Caboose Sit and Stand for our trip last November and loved loved loved it. My kids were 6 and 2.5 at the time. My daughter 6 did not use it that much but when she was tired it was great to let her sit in the back. It was just me and the 2 kids traveling alone and we flew. It was also great for the airport. I let DD walk and put my son on the bench in back and my carry on bag in the front seat as we walked through the airport. The terminal we had to get to was pretty far so it was nice to to stroll son and bag through the terminal. Then I just gate checked it. The only complaint is the front seat does not recline. DD was going strong some nights and DS fell asleep and it would have been so nice to recline the front seat and let him snooze in a better position. We are talking it again in June, although DD is bordering on being too heavy for it.

I heard great things about the Peg Pergo Pliko P3 and DD actaully did not like this at all. I also tried the Sit and Stand at Target and found the Joovy much easier to navigate. We still take the Sit and Stand for just DS 3 to Kings Island. We live in Cincinnati and have season passes and he gets tired after a while and it's great to let him ride in the back and he can just hop off when we get to the ride.

Have fun!
