Double stroller or single and carrier?

I ordered a double stroller to rent for our upcoming May trip but am now wondering if I should use a single plus a carrier. DD3 doesn't like being in a stroller, but I know that she will get tired and will want to take a break, esp since we are going in May. I have a pikkolo to carry the baby, but I am not sure how comfortable a carrier is going to be in May? Esp because I am going to have to carry her on my back as she is too heavy for me to carry comfortably in front. But then I am unsure of how much of a pain it will be to have her on my back and have to take her off to get on rides and eat and see characters, etc.

Any been there/done thats?

I used a sling to carry my infant/toddler and it worked great. However I have used a back style carrier and did not like the gertting them on and off. With the sling my son was on my hip...very natural much like it you were holding him. I had the stroller for my 3 year old. She would walk some and ride some worked out great for us. I must disclose I am a baby wearing mama. We never used strollers at home so I was used to carrying baby all the time.

How comfortable is it carrying the baby on your hip all day? My pikkolo can be worn as hip carry but I haven't tried it yet.

If your baby will be a year old then, I would go with the double stroller. I carried my baby (in a carrier) on a May trip nearly exclusively, BUT she was not even 3 months old. When we went back and she was 13 months we had a stroller. We did carry her periodically (both in our arms and a carrier), but she was much heavier then than 3 months so I was not up for it all the time. Same with my son-wore him nearly the entire trip at 3 months, but at 15 months he went into the stroller a lot.

I'd do the double stroller and stash a baby carrier (like a peanut shell) under it. At 1 year old, she's probably going to want a change of venue from time to time.:)

Double stroller it. It will really help if you have a side by side vs. a front/back. That way they'll both see stuff at the same time. We used our sit n stand last year, but are planning to use our double jogger this fall. It's a bit of a monster, but it's got the taller handle and it didn't cost me much when I bought it used at Goodwill. My parents used it when the took DS(3) and Dneph(3) last fall and they said it was a smart move for them.
