We were planning on buying a duoglider from a friend of ours. Our dd will be 2 when ds is born. We weren't looking forward to bringing it to wdw but figured we would muddle through. Because we were staying at Boardwalk, we would only need to load it on buses for MK and AK.

I have read some horror stories on these boards about the duoglider, so now I am wondering whether to buy it at all. Please post your pros and cons with this stroller at WDW and at home.

Are there any alternatives for a baby and a graco carseat?

I have the older duoglider and do NOT like it at all. It is difficult to push and very large. The wheels are squeaky and hard to turn. I am selling it right now. If I were buying a double now, I would get either a side by side Maclaren, the new duoglider, or the Kolcraft double. (I tried to post a link, but my post count isn't high enough.
I love the options that the Kolcraft one give you. I am sure that it is still large but it's super easy to turn and the seating options are awesome. Good luck!

Our carseat worked with the Peg Pergo Aria. It's a very lightweight stroller, has storage and reclines. We've taken it 5 times to WDW.

you might consider a sit-and-stand, if they still make them--carseat can go in the stroller part. Other idea for WDW is single stroller for infant and umbrella for older toddler. I had twins and the Moms who got the front/back all ditched them after 9 mths--I got a side-by side (not carseats fit) and loved mine. Also, front/backs are heavy--too much for me to put in/out of car every time at the Mall, etc.

Thanks for your tips. I don't want two separate strollers, since we will have to deal with busses and the kids. Plus I don't want to own a million strollers!!
I know I will need one double stroller for home. I don't want to buy a duoglider just to hate it and want something else!! But I guess I would need it in the beginning anyways. So frustrating!!

I owned a duoglider and hated it also. Personally, if I had to do it over again, I would have invested in a double maclaren and just put the baby directly in the stroller instead of clipping the carrier in the stroller. I know it is a little bit of a hassle, but they are only in the carrier for a short time. I held off on buying a mac because of the price, but they really do handle like a dream (I currently own a single maclaren). They are worth every penny and are great even for older kids. I have owned quite a few strollers that I have regretted buying but my mac I LOVE.

Has anyone owned a baby trend sitnstand plus. It comes with a seat in the back that can be converted to just the platform? It gets good consumer reviews on target, but would like anyone else's opinion!

I've never owned a sitnstand stroller, so can't help you there, but wanted to chime in on the Graco duoglider. I have 4 year old twins, and I hated that duoglider. I got rid of it by 10 months because it was getting difficult to turn as they got heavier. Also, it felt like I was turning a bus around corners. I bought a Combi Twin Savvy (side by side), and have used it until this year. It's been a life saver - much easier to push & lighter to get in and out of the van. It accommodates infants, plus I believe it's compatible with a Combi carrier, but I never needed that option so I don't know much about that aspect.

I've been through umbrella strollers, double strollers - my best advice is to find a good sturdy stroller that will accommodate up to a good weight...even though it may be a little more expensive, you will save money in the long run because you won't "outgrow" the stroller or end up hating it and wanting a new one.

The Mac Techno XLR has a carseat kit you may want to find out if the twin strollers can accomodate one of the carseat kits b/c you can use a graco seat w/ it. You could look into the Phil & Ted jogger and right now you can get the back seat for free w/ the purchase of a new one.

I had a duoglider when my twins were infants. I had to stop using it last summer because they got so heavy that I had a hard time steering it. What I found worked best though was to put the one who weighed less in the front, and that made it easier to steer. It did get to the point though that the lightest one got too heavy as she grew making it tough to steer.

You could snap the car seat in the front and let the 2 year old sit in the back and that would make it comfortable to push and steer. I loved the duoglider when both my twins were still in their car seats. What I used to do was lower the handle on the seat in front and pull it like a wagon. It was so nice and effortless.

Now I use a Graco DuoRider which I love!

We had originally bought the DuoGlider because it was on clearance at Sears for $25! And the car seats that matched were on clearance for something like $20! The fabric pattern had been discontinued and we bought the last that they had.

I have a Joovy sit and stand and LOVE it. I am not sure how old your dd is, but she might be too small to use the back seat (no recline if she wants a nap). It works well for us, but mine are much older.

decisions, decisions! I don't want to make the wrong choice, seeing as double's arent' cheap. I am skeptical about getting a side by side because we go to the mall and inside places a lot. I think the sitnstand plus is our choice. Not too expensive and looks like it will grow with our family. Only downside is that it isn't carried in stores!

Thanks for all your tips. If anyone has used that stroller, would love reviews.

I actually think two separate strollers would be easier. This way you can divide and conquor! It also gives you more flexibility getting through crowds and if one of you needs to do something the other isn't.

We have a single Peg Perego Aria (2001 model) that we love. It has gone on three trips to WDW, 2 cruises (one out of Miami and the other New Orleans) and another trip to Nashville!

I looked at the deluxe sit-n-stand in a store a while back and it is pretty much the same size as a graco duoglider especially when you are using the carseat. I really didn't want something that long and figured it'd really be just as big of a pain as I had heard the duoglider was. The double jogging strollers are really, really nice. Most will accomodate a carseat (Bob, Mountain Buggy Urban double, etc). The price might be a bit high but with the high weight limits and the fact that they are very versatile, they are well worth the money (and have good resale value). I would also consider a double Maclaren or Inglesia but you won't be able to use the carseat. However, considering that my kids were out of the infant carseat by 6 months, I think I could have survived those first few months.

All great points! The only reason I considered the sitnstand plus was that it converted to just the sit bench, so I thought I would get more use out of it. I know it looks heavy.

I just think those joggers and side by sides would be a pain at the mall or inside places.

Who knows, maybe I will just use a baby carrier and a single stroller and call it a day.

the side by sides really aren't bad. I used mine all the time when my twins were younger. I have the Combi Twin Savvy - it's narrow enough to fit through standard doors, so I had no problems getting in and out of the mall. I'm not sure of the width on the others, so that is something you'd probably want to check into if you decide to go with a side by side.

I have a duoglider & a sit & stand. I think the sit & stand is even harder to steer than the duoglider!!! I have brought the duoglider to disney a few times & yes its a pain on the bus, but its nice for naps & storage. I would bring it again. I love the idea of the sit & stand, but I am definately not happy with it!

OOh! That's not good news!! I found a tandem on craigs list for $10! It is a cosco, would a graco carseat fit? Maybe I will just get that and wait and see on everything else!!
