For ease I think I will order the rain cover and sunshade from Amazon and have it shipped. I can either have it shipped to me and then ship it to whomever (or carry it down with me if nobody is interested in using them). Or I can ship them to the first interested person for them to take down with them.

Thoughts?

What is the cost of the accessories? I am trying to figure out the total cost so far for everyone in the swap.
As for getting the items to the World, I would recommend working out with Amaia82 (1st up in the swap) if it easier to send them to her direct or to POP. Please keep us all updated.


The stroller is supposed to arrive at my house tomorrow according to tracking. I will attempt to get out the manual without destroying the box to see what tools are needed for assembly. I will be shipping the stroller to POP. My goal is to ship it Friday 9/5. I am in PA and it will take approx 3-5 days to arrive, so it will be there for Amaia's arrival 9/13.
Once we have the total on the accessories I will let you all know where we are at cost wise per person. I ask that payment be sent to me prior to the 5th ship date. I prefer paypal as it easiest, if you need to pay via a different method please let me know. Thanks, and I will update as soon as I get more info!!

Sorry, been out all day. The combined price of the two items seems to be about $37 - 40 with the rayshade being the most expensive portion of that (25). I will go to the consignment store tomorrow and hope to find something there. I can then ship the stuff to the resort or to Amaia.

However, I beleive that most folks are interested mainly in the rain shield. The only reason I want the sun shield is because I have an infant and I don't want him to get any sun. So I understand if we don't want to split the costs of all of this up by everyone.

Let me see what I can find tomorrow and I'll post something as soon as I know.

However, as long as these items are there for me to use when I get there

I will be at the WL from 10/19-25 at the WL and would be interested in the swap. We will not have a car so I am not sure about the handoff? I was just going to rent from an offsite comp but if the stroller transfer can be arranged this might work out . Please let me know.

Put you down for those dates. That is perfect because the swapper before you leaving on the 18th is at WL.
So you will just have to work out with her info so she can leave it there under your name and reservation #, then contact the swapper after you to work out getting the stroller to her or her picking it up.

Ok, well if the total weight limit is 100 lb. then I'm cool. Combined, my kiddos are about 83lbs. I would prefer to get the stroller at WDW. I'm not sure we'll have the space in the car to load it up from GA (even though I think we're driving through Atlanta). Do we know how long WDW is willing to hold a stroller? Will AKL store it? Perhaps more people will join this swap and it will be a moot point.

I am waiting to hear how long they will hold the stroller---last I read on another thread was 2 weeks. So unless we get another swapper to fill that gap, it may not work.

I am so happy this is working out! Budgeting to pay 200 for the week in stroller rentals was not going to happen. Now we can eat that week!! But in all seriousness, I do hope we will do our part to keep the stroller in great shape through the swap and we have effortless swapping between us all. I also hope we each get to meet a DISer along the way.
There are only a few simple rules:
1. Be respectful of the stroller. If you get it dirty, clean it.
2. If you kids are bigger and do not need the front bar, please remove it.
3. No one in this swap ( I or anyone else, or the Disbaords in general) are responsible in anyway if there should be a problem with the stroller or the swap.
4. There are no refunds for any reason.
I have put out my personal money to cover the cost and am basing everyone's cost share on how many participants we have. I am not making any profit on this stroller. By participating we all agree to be fair and respectable and do our part to keep the stroller safe, secure, and do our part to transfer it to the next swapper.


If we do not get anyone to fill in spot right after Doxxie, we will be ending there (11/12). Our next interested swapper does not arrive till 12/6 and I do not believe the resort will hold the stroller that long--I have read 2 weeks is the max. I am going to wait till 5pm Friday to give anyone else a chance to join, then we will close the swap.
Unless someone else wants to take over the swap at that point.

Doxxie was the one looking at accessories, so I am not sure what she had in mind exactly. Maybe send her a PM in case she doesn't get to check here? It sounds like a money saver on extra shipping.

I managed to get out the instructions, it seems all you need to put it together is a screwdriver. It does not state Philips head or straight, so to be safe, Amaia, you may want to bring both.

I don't want to dig further in the box because it is in good shape, and I really do not want to damage it. Though when DH gets home maybe we can safely remove everything to be sure it is all here and place it back in. I'll let you know if we do.

We may have to know what size screwdriver as well not just what kind. It is probably pretty standard though. Amaia are you guys checking luggage? If not I don't think you will get a screwdriver down there!

I've been reading on sites about jogging strollers, many of them need to have the tires inflated when it is assembled. Does the manual say anything about this?

The manual does not say, so I will check that when DH gets home. We will have to pull it out to see the tires.

I did go out today and looked for the stuff in a store but no luck. Found lots of single stroller stuff, no side by side double. Also checked consignment stores with no luck. So...new it is!

Also, we actually won't be arriving until the evening of November 6th so if someone wants to use the stroller from 11/1 until 11/6 (if that day makes a difference), they could use it on the 6th and I would get it from them that night so I'd have it for going to the park on the 7th.

Just wanted to clarify in case that makes a difference to a potential swapper!

What color is the stroller? I'm trying to decide black sunshade or royal blue. Blue may be better (a little less hot) unless the stroller is the red/grey one.

By the way, we tried the boys out in a jogging stroller at the store today (not this brand) and they look so cute! The 4 year old liked to have a little ride, he hasn't been in a stroller in a long time!

I just read a review that says that her husband pulled the stroller from the box, popped the wheels on and 10 minutes later they were ready to go. So it doesn't sound like they have to be inflated. We should, of course, double check, but it sounds as if it will be easy.
