I just called the Bank One rep and was told that the offer is definitely not going out to everyone and that I am not one of the people who are getting the double reward offer :(

Anywas, this does irk me a little bit because we've been putting everything on this card and have had it since it was 1st offered. I'm really not sure that this is a fair way to go out handing out promotions (I guess I just think we should all get it). Anyways, I'm definitely going to e-mail them (the e-mail address is on the Disney bank one web site) to let them know I think this stinks and that my Discovercard is going to start getting a little more of a work out. At least I can double those $ at Sharper Image and work towards a certain massage chair I want.

Sorry to rant, but I was just really a little ticked (bet you couldnt' tell, huh ;)

I'm with you jacquek95! I'm really ticked off that not everyone is receiving this offer. I've also read about new cardholders receiving the 7-for-4 deal. That's what I'm waiting for!!! I'm trying to schedule a trip for myself, DH, DS3 and DS1.5. I've been a cardholder since Day 1 and thought that I'd get these kinds of perks. Now such luck for me!!!

Sorry to vent!

Well, it looks like I'm not getting that special, and we just paid off our card. Geez I can't get a break. Hopley something will come out for us before our December Trip.

like they used to do at banks, in order to get them to sign up for the card. I have no problem with them giving out plush, pins, disney dollars, etc to get people to sign up. But to then offer some existing cardholders a special, and not others seems unfair. It seems discriminatory. I'm thinking they didn't expect people to find out what other cardholders were being offered. I guess we are a such a small population of their total cardholders that it doesn't matter how put off we are. I didn't get a postcard (yet) at all, not even for purchases over 550. Maybe I should start using this card less and I will get some promotions, or maybe, since I don't carry a monthly balance, they don't care what I spend. Same with the WDW postcards and emails-I've never got one that I could use....

I hadn't received a postcard either so I called Bank One and was told there were no notes on my account about this promotion. (Had to twist Danielle's arm to get her to even look but that's another story).

I won't stop using my card because that would only hurt me and my reward balance in the end. Wish I knew whay I was excluded.

I think I'll email BankOne and Disney about this.

I'm a little miffed with them too. I try to be happy that I've earned about $100 in reward money, but that 7/4 offer is worth more than $100! Right now the biggest "perk" for getting the card early on seems to be the fact that the card says "CHARTER CARDMEMBER". ;) WHOOPEE! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.) I guess you take what you can get & try not to look back & second guess.

Got my card and it's for $850 - not a problem. But we won't be able to use them for our April trip - bummer.
As for the haves and have not my mom didn't get one and we pretty much have the same spending habits - weird.

For everyone complaining about the perks - What about the two offers they just threw out - the room only CTV code and the other package code? They were a pretty good perk for having the card.

I understand about the anger about the seperate mailings. I would be pissed too. Maybe you'll get the next offer that comes around.

Hey, come on. Didn't you get a Day 1 Card Member Pin too???? ;)

I just called the Rewards dept. and was told that the offer was a promotion from the marketing dept. targeted at people who do not use their card often. The rep basically told me that I use my card too often and charge too much to be offered the double rewards. I replied that I didn't think it was fair that those who were loyal to the card were actually punished. I will not stop using my card, already paid for 1.5 nights at the Poly LV with it, but I sure am disappointed.

OK, Now I'M ticked off! I'm a charter member and I didn't get a Day 1 Card Member Pin!!! I feel cheated!

Sorry, couldn't help myself there!:p

To tell you the truth, I get ticked off with them too. I haven't received a post card either and even though I have only had my card since December and am considered a charter cardmember, I still do not qualify for the 4/7 offer which I would've booked as it was through 10/30 (I know I called as I had only had my card 2 or 3 months when it first came out and I wanted to see if I was eligible). That was also a marketing ploy aimed at a certain population in certain areas (from what I understand from reading these boards not even all of the recent newly joined members who requested the card were eligible for the 4/7 deal). It is discriminatory. This offer is discriminatory also. I don't feel special because I have the card. Granted they did give all cardmembers codes for a limited time period but then 2 weeks later Disney published codes (now on mousesavers) for everyone to use. Wow we just got a 2 week heads up on some discounts. Someone stated it correctly on another board. When they used to have the "Magic Club" yes you had to pay but everyone was equal in the club. I feel as though I am left out of most promotions because I don't live in one of those target areas. It is things like this that make you think, an airline card is looking better all the time.

we received the gas, dining, utliites, wireless offer ...

determined by VISA ... so who knows??!

I already put all of that on this card. I don't think that there is any rhyme or reason for how they decide who gets what offer.

I'm in AL too and have not received either offer.

No postcard here and I had to put my son's Sylvan Learning Center tuition on the card yesterday. $4000.00!

I have not yet received a mailing but will look for it in days to come. Being new to the card - how do I cash in my points for Disney Dollars. Do you do this thru the website and if so how long does it take to get your dollars? My trip is in August and I will be using my card for all purchases that I can until August 1. Then I planned on asking for my rewards. Also do many of you go buy Disney dollars at the disney store? Are there are benefits to doing this rather than carrying the cash? THanks for all your help and suggestions!!!! Also if you use your Disney Visa to pay of another account (not transfer but pay off) do you get the reward dollars?

It takes about 10 days to receive your Rewards card in the mail. There is a thread here on the budget board though where people get the cards at DTD. Once you have the card, transferring the rewards $$ is instant. You can request a card once you have $20. They do expire once they go to your card in a shorter time period than if you leave them on your account, but it's still several months.

I do not believe that balance transfers count for rewards dollars, but I don't know that for sure.

1-800-300-8575 to request rewards. I do not know if you can do this through the website.

Advantage to Disney Dollars: You can earn reward dollars if you charge them with your DV. In December I think I earned triple points at the DS doing this. It might have been only double...I can't remember for sure. If lost though, they are like cash.

I'm with you guys who think we're getting a raw deal. I guess they know they have us loyal cardholders right where they want us, why give us more perks? I think if the offer is made to one cardholder, it should be made to us all. Having said that....I will continue to use my Disney Visa with or without a special offer - after all, a free dollar is a free dollar! :)

No post card for us :( My DH and I each have our own. I have been checking my mailbox every day for it. I charge about $1200 a month on mine and DH doesn't always use his every month (but when he does it is high). Looks like we won't be included in this extra perk:rolleyes:
