Double Rewards on SWA to end

just got a mailing and also noticed on the SWA site that the double rewards for booking online will end Dec 31/2003

it is being replaced by .5 rewards per segment booked online ( do not know if it must be a round trip or not ) thus instead of 4 credits per flight they will give 3 credits per flight ( this second promotion is set to end June 30~

SWA did have one of the nicer frequent flier programs but now we will need 5 + roundtrips in order to get a free voucher


there was also an article in USA today yesterday that said the "discount" airlines will be raising rates ....maybe the days of really low cost flying is near an end....

Not just 5+ round trips....5+ roundtrips in a 12 month period. That leaves up out.
We could squeak out 4 RT's a year but 5+ is simply out of the question. DH uses a Southwest Visa for business expenses so maybe we can get an award ticket from that angle. Phooey. It was good while it lasted though. Time to look at other airlines, I guess.
