Double or Two Single Strollers?

I just can't decide what to do. I like our single strollers better than our double. Our double seems so BIG. However, the double might be nicer so we don't have to worry about finding two strollers after rides etc.
If we take the 2 singles is there a way we could easily lock them up so they stick together if they are moved?

Has anyone done the 2 singles and was it a pain?

We had 2 singles once. I hated it. No one ever had free hands when we needed. Single strollers might be smaller than a double, but there's 2 of them. So they take up just as much or more room, it takes two people to push and carry them

DH and I had this debate. He wanted to take 2 singles, and I wanted to take the double. We won't go to WDW until next month, but we've now done two other trips and I don't know how we'd make it through the airport while each pushing a stroller. After that first trip, he never brought up the idea of 2 singles again. :)

Definitely a double. As others have pointed out with two strollers neither adult will ever have their hands free. And when you park your strollers they get moved around so that's two strollers to find instead of just one. Two strollers to hold on the bus instead of just one. Just sounds like a pain.

We took two strollers two years ago when we had a three year old and a baby. We figured we would split up more often than we actually did. In the end, there was one day out of eight where we were glad we had two strollers...which definitely did not make it worthwhile!!

I shall be the voice of dissent. We used two singles and we were fine. I hate doubles though, especially the wide ones. I get that it is Disney but they take up so much room on the paths; we often walked front to back so we weren't taking up so much room. We did have those thigns that connect your two strollers together so one person could push if we wanted, but rarely needed to.

For my family, 2 single strollers works best! I worry that if we used a double they would bicker all day since they would always be so close.

I couldn't imagine going without two singles. It made splitting up for bathroom breaks, diaper changes so much easier. Also, it allowed for better naps in the stroller, and two singles were much better for navigating through heavy crowds.

5 kids in under 7 years, always used a doulble. If we split up, the older child would (gasp) walk.

2 singles for us, those double strollers are so big and weaving in and out of all the people is much easier with a small Stroller. Plus singles are much easier to fold up and fit on buses, trams and monorail. And depending on the age of your children you May at times be able to get away with 1 sometimes if it's just walking around a resort or just going to dinner (and not always be lugging a double)

Finding strollers after a ride has never been an issue, they are not always together but it doesn't take long to spot and grab them.

Double - you want free hands. There will always be a child - at some point in the day - who wants to be carried. Then you have to juggle two strollers and a child with two people.

We've done both & definitely preferred 2 singles. So much easier to push, no fighting between the kids, much easier to split up, & so much easier on the buses. We often would just park one stroller for a good portion of the day & then when they were both tired, we would just go grab it. So much better than pushing a double with one kid or no kids in it.

But as you can see, everyone has a theory on this so you'll have to decide what's best for you.

When our kids were younger we used a double---mostly because it holds more cargo. But it's a pain on transport and really generally maneuvering around. When they were a bit older (very good at walking but not strong enough to walk the whole time) we took two umbrella strollers instead, and that worked well. A lot of times we just pushed our bags around in one while the kids took turns walking.

We bought unbrella stroller connector clips for under $20 and had the luxury of both choices! Clip them together for a double, unclip when we wanted to go our separate ways. Worked like a charm!

Oh my gosh! Everyone has such different opinions. I will really have to think about this for a while. Anyone else have suggestions?

AKfan, I have never heard of connector clips. Can you send a link of what that is?

Last trip we took 2 umbrella strollers and bought the connectors. We were very lucky that we took two singles because the airline broke one of the wheels on the way to Orlando. If we had just a double we wouldn't have had anything because all of the stroller rental companies were sold out.

The correct answer is a sit 'n stand stroller.
