The Segway tour was awesome, as was the rest of my birthday in EPCOT (even though you haven't TR'ed about the whole day yet :) ). Thanks for arranging it babe....you're the best !!!

some time we will do the segway tour, prob when the kids are older cause my parents will want to do it also, but then noone will watch parker
That sounds like a great plan Dan........you would love it!

Sounds like a great birthday! I think the next time we go we are going to do that segway tour. It looks like a lot of fun!
You must do it Andrea...it makes you look at World Showcase in a different way & it's just plain fun!

The Segway tour looks like fun! I can't wait to try it for myself in May :woohoo:

Sounds like Eric was having a great birthday so far!!
You will have a great time....you & your Mom are doing it right? You will be surprised how tired it makes your feet though...like it must use muscles you don't normally use when you shift your weight.

Yummmmmmm I wish I had some to go with my dinner tonight.

Long day with my students today & another one tomorrow.....maybe an update Thursday. I already have some pictures uploaded.

When we left off, we had just watched the Jammitors perform & bang away on pots & pans.
Then we headed to Spaceship Earth to see what our future was destined to be.....apparently we are going to be in outer space with really big heads & really skinny bodies (I wish)!!!!
IMG_0318.jpg

Then we Soared
img_0496.jpg

followed by helping find a cute little clown fish named Guido.....I mean Nemo. Guess I am sometimes a little bit like Dorie.
Thought this Hidden Mickey in the Seas was cool.
IMG_0345.jpg

Then it was time to accept a mission to Mars from Lieutenant Dan....I got to be the engineer.
img_0512.jpg

Eric always wanted to be an astronaut.
img_0520.jpg

We next helped GM test some new cars.
img_0526.jpg

Then we decided we were famished after all our cool adventures & that it was time to start our food touring of World Showcase. Our plan was to share all the samples & that way we could try more things.
IMG_0368.jpg

Our first stop was the Mouse Catch for a trio of cheese. Now we love some cheese & the chance to taste new ones is fun to us. This was a Dutch, an Italian & a Spanish cheese. They all got a thumbs up.
IMG_0369.jpg

Our next stop was Shanghai China. We got the Pork Pot stickers, Grilled chicken with cumin & traditional spices & a Happy Lychee drink. We got these & then went to the Lotus Blossom restaurant & sat down to enjoy them since it was sooooo hot outside. We really enjoyed all three of these & the drink was surprisingly good & so refreshing.
IMG_0371.jpg

Eric was having so much fun, I caught him hugging the Chinese version of a lion.....or maybe it was the happy lychee & the heat getting to him.
IMG_0373.jpg

The scenery in China is gorgeous.
IMG_0378.jpg

Then we spent one night in Bangkok. Here we tried the chicken coconut soup with mushrooms, lemongrass & ginger & the green papaya salad with shrimp. We have never eaten Thai & from how much we enjoyed these I believe we will be venturing out to a Thai restaurant soon.
IMG_0379.jpg

Then we went to my first choice for our first visit to Europe, Austria.
We had Leth Gruner Veltliner wine, Mushroom soup with chive dumpling, Paprika beef stew with bacon dumpling, & a Leth Riesling.
IMG_0380.jpg

We enjoyed being in Austria & being able to see Venice. :rotfl:
IMG_0381.jpg

Next we decided that it was time to get in some air conditioning for awhile & relax so we went to the American Adventure. They were having an event in the rotunda so we entered through the exit which was weird. I always love this show & it always makes me tear up a bit. I have to admit it makes me very proud to be an American. My favorite part is at the end when they show the montage of people as soon as I see Walt it's all over.
IMG_0386.jpg

When we came out the Taylor Dayne Eat to the Beat concert was going on so we walked over & watched for a minute.

Then we went to Tokyo, Japan. Even though we had been snacking, Eric wanted a meal, so I grabbed a spicy tuna roll (my first real sushi-which I enjoyed) & a California roll from the Food & Wine kiosk while he got food at Yakatori house.
IMG_0395.jpg

After that we got a cosmo slush in Paris & it was soooooo yummy.
IMG_0398.jpg

We browsed the shops in France & I wanted something sweet but the line for the patisserie was sooooo long that we went to the Cork Ireland kiosk & got the warm chocolate lava cake with Baileys ganache. It was so good, but it was really only about 2 bites & I ate it so fast no picture.
We browsed the shops in England & caught a bit of the British Invasion.

Then we found a spot in the lower UK area to watch Illuminations which is Eric's favorite Disney nighttime show.

IMG_0428.jpg

A perfect ending to a very full day.
IMG_0431.jpg

After Illuminations, we walked slowly out the Internation Gateway & walked to the Beach Club to catch a bus back to SSR.
Eric said he had a great birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up next: Magic Kingdom.....we finally made it to opening!!!!

What a great day! I can just imagine being there with you :goodvibes. Pretty sure we are going October of next year for the big 5 year anniversary!

everything looked good except the sushi, yuk

i cant wait to be there during hte food and wine, when we go in october of 2012.

if you remember, would you share a few of the prices of the dishes you have, if you want to, just wondering how much some of the samples cost

That food looks yummy!

Nice view from Austria to Venice! :rotfl:

Your Illuminations pictures came out great! Does your camera take nighttime photos that good all the time? Its super! :goodvibes

That will be a great way to celebrate 5 years Andrea.

Everything you sampled at F&W look really good!
It was all good...I think there was only one thing we sampled that was a big thumbs down & that was the last day.

Dan....the samples were 3-5 dollars for most things. I think the wine we tried was about 4 dollars. The Cosmo slush was 7 or 8.

Thanks Jenn. I got a new camera (a Canon SX 10IS) right before we left & for the most part was very impressed with the way the pictures came out. Some could have been better like MNSSHP parade pics......but I was still playing with the camera & figuring out what settings work best. I think the night shots were pretty good overall.

wow 3-5 for that food, not bad at all, looks like most of the time it was a pretty good amount as well.

Dan everything that we tried except for the chocolate cake at Ireland was a pretty good portion. I think the most expensive food item I saw was the Lobster Roll & it was 7.

Finally working on an update........

We had another early start on Sunday Oct 26th as I wanted to make sure to get to the Magic Kingdom to see the opening show. We ate breakfast in the room & headed out. As the bus pulled up, I saw the train pulling in & thought we were going to miss it, but the train stopped & I knew we were going to make it. Woohoo!!!! We walked briskly to the entrance through bag check & into the area in front of the train station. Before long we were greeted by the residents of Main Street.
IMG_0438.jpg

Then they even sang to us.....

Soon the train was chugging on into the station.....

And we got to see some of our favorite characters who then proceeded to count down with a special family to open the Magic Kingdom.
IMG_0446.jpg

IMG_0448.jpg

We walked on under the train station & saw Alice looking like she had lost something perhaps a White Rabbit?????
IMG_0450.jpg

We took in some of the Halloween decor as we strolled down Main Street. The pumpkins are even themed to match what they are decorating.
IMG_0458.jpg

Mickey & Minnie were looking so cute in their Halloween attire.
IMG_0461-1.jpg

IMG_0462-1.jpg

Next up, we watched the Trolley show coming down Main Street.
IMG_0464-1.jpg

IMG_0469.jpg

Here's a little sample......I have always wanted to see this & we finally did.

Then we made a bee line through the castle to Dumbo.
IMG_0473.jpg

All my visits to Magic Kingdom & I have never ridden Dumbo & neither had Eric. This was the longest line we waited in all week I think, but it was only about 15-20 minutes.
IMG_0477-1.jpg

img_0535.jpg

Soon we were soaring above Fantasyland. I loved the perspective from up there, but man was that a short flight.
IMG_0480.jpg

We took a quick ride on Peter Pan on our way to the Haunted Mansion.
img_0538.jpg

We got stuck in our doom buggy for about 10 minutes, so I took a picture of Eric.
IMG_0496-1.jpg

And the wallpaper.....who knew it was purple?
IMG_0498.jpg

Finally we got to visit the 999 Happy Haunts & I am still loving the renovations they did to the Mansion.
We found Mr Toad in the pet cemetary......poor old Toadie.
IMG_0509.jpg

On our way into Frontierland we ran into some old friends.
img_0539.jpg

Then, went for a refreshing Splash Down with Brer Rabbit & his crew.
IMG_0529.jpg

Rode the wildest ride in the Wilderness next
img_0551.jpg

By then we were getting hungry so we headed back to Columbia Harbour house & Eric got in line while I got us a nice cozy table with a view.
IMG_0534.jpg

Eric had fish & chips & I had a tuna sandwich. It was tasty.
img_0555.jpg

Next up.....A afternoon of fun

I love getting stuck on the Haunted Mansion ride! It happens every time we visit :lmao:

Yes I know all about you & getting stuck on rides. :lmao:
We got stuck on HM in DL last year too on that first night. Mark & Mindy took our picture in the doom buggy.

Are you still mad at us for breaking the train and the ride in toon town last year? :lmao:
