Last week when I was getting a fast pass for Mission: Space, the machine gave me two. They were both for Mission: Space for the same time frame. One was a little bigger print than the other and only one had time printed when I could get my next fast pass. I thought perhaps they were different and only one could be used as a fastpass but I asked the CM which one I should use and he said I could use them both, one after the other. I had no intention of going on Mission: Space 2 times in a row but thought it interesting that they would give me the opportunity. I've heard of them giving a fastpass to as different attraction as a bonus when you get your fastpass but never heard of them giving two for the same attraction. Anyone else get one of these?

When we were at Epcot in November, they were printing out "Surprise" FastPasses with the regular FastPasses. We got a Mission: Space FastPass with an extra for "Honey I Shrunk the Audience." The "surprise" pass was for a time a couple of hours before our MS pass.

I'm guessing that this is something that they're testing at Epcot, but I couldn't say for certain. I'd also suspect that you're not supposed to get a "surprise" for the same attraction you're getting yor main FastPass for, but that any bugs in the system aren't fully worked out yet.

I would be interested to hear from someone who knows the full scoop on the surprise FastPasses.

We also got a surprise fast pass at Test Track in August. In addition to our TT fp we got one for a specific show time at HISTA and it also did not affect our ability to get another FP. The CM told us they were trying to use the FP system to help spread out the traffic in the park to the attractions with less waits and would continue to experiment.

Given that CM"s explation, it seems odd that your surprise FP would be for the same attraction. Unless the "real" fp you got was for a typically busy time and there is some probability you would choose to ride at the surprise time instead of the FP time.

Things that make you go "Huumm"

I got "bonus" fastpasses a lot during my visit the first week of November. At first, I almost disregarded them, thinking they were just little "ads" for the other attractions. It was actually my dad who said, "Hey... wait a minute..." and realized we were getting two, two, yes two for the price of one!

I once got a single fastpass that was printed on two fastpass blanks. This was a machine irregularity. Only the first fastpass coupon had a return time and only the second fastpass coupon had the time to get another fastpass.

It was for Big Thunder Mountain.
