Double Disney Visa points

A month ago or so, we received the offer like many others did that after a certain amount spent monthly (our offer was anything over $800) would earn double the points. I could have sworn it started August 1. We just got our latest bill which went through August 13. We charged over $1500 and only got 15 reward dollars for net purchases on this cycle. I'd say at least $1300 was charged from August 1- August 13. Any idea why I didn't earn double reward dollars for those dates???
Has anyone with a similar offer gotten a bill yet and earned double reward dollars?
I am curious if mine was a mistake or not???

I think it has to do with WHAT you purchased. When I read the fine print, it stated that our dollar amount had to be in everyday purchases (defined as purchases that Visa codes as groceries, dining, etc.) Do you think that could be it?

I had a different Bank One card that offered a similar deal, and not only was it only on certain purchases, but from certain companies. Like you had to buy your gas from certain gas stations, most were national chains that weren't even located in our midwestern city.

I believe it was Double Points for the amount after the $800.00. So you would have gotten Double Points for $500.00 IF you charged what they considered everyday purchases.

On my Visa I have to charge 250.00 on gas, dining, grocery, automotive first, then anything over 250.00 on the items above I receive Double points.

I just called Disney on this one as it was confusing. Their response was: althouh the promotion did begin in June, your points are not awarded until after an 8-10 week time period. The indicated that we would begin to receive our additional points in September. Yes, based on the amount you quoted (1500) you will be receiving 7 addiitonal disney rewards for that month when posted. Hope that helps.

Oh, if that's true then I should get extra points! I'm charging everything I can (and paying it off once a week) so I'm racking up a fair amount of rewards...but anything extra would be excellent!

This is why I gave up on this card too confusing, and too many offers...none of which I am getting.

It must be the 8-10 week period thing. I do charge my groceries and gas, but then again, usually my groceries and gas are bought at Brookshire's which is not a national chain. I charged $842 for my AKL reservations- paid the whole thing off ahead of time to get double points. I wonder if I will since that is not an everyday item.
Geesh, it is confusing. Too many conditions.

Its funny your brought this up because i just went through the same thing with them last week and also got the 8-10wk speech. I think im over the time period and if i dont get them added by my sept .statement im calling back up..i do understand that it only counted towards certain things but what i bought fit the description.

Do you think it would be with the September statement? (not at some random time in September?) My offer started on July 1 so I was hoping that some would be there on my last closing 8/20. No double points yet.

Im not sure...i had the same double points deal for may-june when i spent over $500.00. At this time i think everything charged was included and i had my Las Vegas trip paif for on the credit card. I have yet to recieve my double rewards points but they told me to give it until sept...i have my scissors ready to cut this card up if i dont receive the points, This card was more of a hassle then anything else~

I had the promo earlier this year for double rewards after $350. spending and they did post to my account. My offer stated 6-10 weeks before they were awarded.
Here's an example of how it worked for me.
In May I spent 975.00. When my statement for May came in it showed 10 new points. In June I spent 1296.00. When my statement for June came in there were 13 new points and 6 bonus points(975-350=625). When my July statement came in there was 9 bonus points listed(1296-350=946).

It's crazy trying to figure out what qualifies, etc. I got the gas, groceries, dining out, over $650 spending I would get double points (but only on the amount over $650). Then I got an offer for a Citibank card that pays 5% back on gas, groceries, and drugstores, with a limit of $300 reward per year. Much simpler than Disney's.

I got a similar offer from American Express Starwood points
(to use at the Swan/Dolphin etc). I called to verify the time
the promotion went into effect, but I it turns out its only for
everyday purchases, my Disney cruise line trip, travel, some
medical bill, none of that counted.

Oh well, it sounded great, at least I do get the points
and starwood is a great program, but I would have loved the
double points!

I assumed it was only travel that did not count towards the double rewards. All merchants I charged were described as "other" on the stmt. I am pretty sure I got the double rewards and it did not take 8-10 wks, I will have to check and make sure. DH just charged a $3000.00 business trip and I'm thinking the resort charge will not be doubled, hopefully everything else will.

Wow! My offer said I had to charge more than $2300 to get double. (on stuff like drycleaning..................) Guess we won't be getting any bonus......

They give different offers to different people. Some people's double rewards ends sooner than others.

I got my statement yesterday and NO double rewards! I called and the guy said it takes 8-10 wks to appear on the stmt. It has been 8 weeks already. He said my offer started July 1 and they should be on the September stmt. I am assuming this will also include July and August charges? It seems the people who answer the phones at that place are not that familiar with the program.

No Wal-Mart on the list that I recall. The groceries seemed to be chains that we didn't have here. I do remember there being gas stations that are on the West Coast, but not here in the Midwest.
