Undercover tourist is giving a discount on top of the normal mousesaver discount on certain WDW tickets.
Now, how do I figure out which ones will give me the best discount if I price bridge to an AP? I can't find the "no expiration" option on the WDW website.

Mousesavers.com has a page with current WDW retail ticket prices. It's broken into sections. First, 1-10 day base tickets. Then PH, then WPF&M, then PH/WPF&M combo, then Non-Expire cost based on number of days. You have to add your options together to get a complete price. All prices listed include tax.

UT tickets with the Mousesavers discount aren't actually double-discounted. The Mousesavers additional discount is usually an additional $1 savings per ticket.

I actually priced it out versus the regular UT page and the savings were even less. I only save $96 dollars versus Disney prices direct through Disney and using the "secret" link from MouseSavers, the discount only saved me $88 dollars.

Can't see huge savings everyone is talking about using UT. Maybe I am just doing something wrong.

In my world, $96 *is* a significant savings. I wouldn't turn it down -- the savings would cover a nice sit-down meal at the parks.

A lot of people don't think of it as saving only $96 (or $88).

They think of it as saving $96 (or $88)!!!!!!!!!!

So much of it depends on your perspective. I'm not the type of person to pass up that kind of discount. YMMV

I think the "huge savings" is within the context that it is hard to find ANY discount on Disney tickets. In that context, finding a 10% discount is a good find. Plus, as a pp mentioned, the actual $ amount saved is substantial especially when multiplied by several family members.

You need to purchase the ticket media that saves you the most money but with a gate value that does not exceed the price of an AP.

Since UT shows you exactly how much you will save over the Disney price for the same ticket, this isn't as hard as you would expect. Just add the savings to the UT ticket price to get the gate price of the ticket. You will want to purchase one with a sum that is < $675.21 (the cost of an AP with tax). Even if it is a ticket that included WPF&M, you won't have to upgrade to a PAP unless you use one of the WPF&M entitlements before doing the upgrade.

And don't forget! You MUST use the ticket at least one time to enter a park prior to doing the upgrade so that it will be bridged to the current gate value. You must do it withing 14 days of the first day of use, even if the ticket is a no-expiry pass. And your AP anniversary date will be backdated to the first time that the ticket was used.

The $96 dollars is for a family of four, three adults and one child. That is the total savings. We always use DDP when we go and you can't do that with tickets purchased separately, either.

It wouldn't cover on TS meal and tip at WDW with four of us. Hey, I want to save money where I can, but going for RO discounts and then budgeting for meals and having to worry about if we go over our daily budget for meals and looking at prices for everything is not my idea of a vacation. I do that everyday, worry about money. I don't need to do that on vacation.

We only get down every four to five years and we want it to be as close to all-inclusive as we can get so we can get away from the everyday worries.

Glad it works for some of you, but just doesn't seem like a savings to me.

For us it's a great savings!!!

We do not do the DDP anymore. It does not save us money anymore and is actually wasteful now that DS is a Disney adult. It did save us tons of money years ago.....when the DDP was cheaper, when my kids were very young and we did tons of character meals and buffets.

I don't care about the all inclusive feel if I know deep down I am wasting money.

If you buy the discounted tickets but don't consider $96 a savings, you can send ME the money! :lmao: I'd love almost $100 towards my Disney trip! ::yes::

Seriously… this is about the best you are going to do. If you want it to be an all-inclusive vacation, then pay Disney directly and get the dining plan. It's going to cost you more money, but maybe that's a price you are willing to pay for convenience and ease of mind.

Ah! But now you're comparing one discount to another, which is not what your PP stated!

However, you're still ignoring the room-only discounts that are always made available concurrently with the "free" dining offers. While you are paying rack rate for your room and the gate price for your tickets, another family may find that getting a room-only discount and cheaper UT tickets more than makes up for otherwise "free" meals.

It's all in the way that you slice and dice it! I'm not saying that "free" dining is a bad option. It's just that it isn't always the best one. And for that matter, UT is not always the best discount available for tickets. And that's why everyone has to do their own research to find the best discount for their own situation.
