"Double Dipping Castaways" September 26, 2014, 5 nights on the Wonder

Just a few questions if anyone knows:
Since there are no "At Sea" days, will there be no formal/semi-formal night? I would rather have a pirate night than a formal night, but that's just me. :)

Will they be having the Halloween celebration on this ship? I noticed that they are only doing it on the Dream this year, but I'm wondering if it will be offered on the Wonder next year.

Thanks!

On our 5 night Magic (similar itinerary) we had a pirate night and semi-formal night. Don't know if they will have a Halloween themed night or not.

Hello all.

This will be the third leg of the mega cruise! Wife and I are excited. Might be gold by the end of the trip!! :teeth:

Happy Monday Double Dippers. Started gathering up FE gifts for our exchange, so excited. :hourglass
We are really hoping that RunDisney posts the Tower of Terror dates for 2014 soon. Our plan is to do this cruise and then run the ToT 10 Miler. If they schedule it a different day than we expect them to, we will have to book a different cruise, and we are so looking forward to Key West and our DD.
Who all plans on going to WDW before or after the cruise?

We are doing WDW after the cruise. Since we will have a 4 year old with us, we are only planning on Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. We also always do the Pirate dinner show in Orlando.

We aren't doing the parks this trip. Since we are pulling the kids out of school for this, we try to make all other trips around their scheduled days off.

Also, I did request to join the FB group about three days ago. I guess I just wait now.

My husband and I have done 9 cruises on Disney in Jan, Feb-Mar, May-June and Sept. The temperature of the water doesn't change all that much...it's usually cool-cold when you first step in but you get used to it quickly. What does change is the outside temperature and whether it's cloudy/rainy or not. This will be our third 2-day CC stop cruise. The first time was a complete surprise since we were supposed to have a day at sea but some repair work was needed on the ship and the captain made the decision to return to CC for the work to be completed instead of the day at sea. After that we looked for 2-day CC cruises. We've done Serenity Bay, the Family Beach and a private Cabana. We absolutely loved the private cabana. We just returned from a 3 day on the Dream with 8 other family members. The cabanas are just the right size for a family if you don't want to spend the entire day inside/out of the sun. It was a great congregation spot. They even included a pack-n-play crib for the little one to take a nap. The privacy is great and the fact that the crowds are kept on the other side of a barrier made for great swimming/floating without constantly bumping into someone. We didn't have anyone trying to take our hammock, beach chair that we had staked out all day or floats/tubes that we had rented. It was well worth the money once split multiple ways. The cabanas come with a refrigerator stocked with water/soft drinks, cold wet cloths and fresh fruit, towels, snacks, beach toys and sunscreen. And as anyone knows who's cruised Disney before they recommend and encourage you to take unopened products that you haven't used. The cabanas are secluded without being being out of the way and are close to the island amenities. We also spent much more time watching the fish in the water with fewer people to scare them off. Two small fish even spent time with me on my float as I was laying on it in the water. The food choices at the BBQs are coleslaw, potato salad, couscous salad, marinated tomatoes, hamburger/cheeseburger, hotdogs, sauerkraut, spicy chicken sandwich, BBQ ribs, mahi mahi, chicken, veggie burger, corn on the cob, vegetarian chili, pineapple upside down cake, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, fresh fruit, chips and ice cream. This will however be our first FE cruise. We've booked the Sept 2014 cruise with the same 8 family members and we're all excited and counting the days to go back and spend a great time together again. The FE will also give the kids something to work on to stay excited during the year (once they find out about the cruise at Christmas).

Just signed up for the FE. :cool1::cool1: Just wanted to let you know that when I got to Person #4 Favorite Disney Character, it only gave me a drop down box of male and female. Can you please update to Cinderella/Tinkerbell/Princesses? Thank you!

I'll get over to the FB group to sign up today. Thanks! :wave2:
What is the facebook group name?

We are now up to 13 cabins signed up for the FE gift exchange. For those who have signed up an updated list will be sent out the end of the week.:banana:

Can I get a copy of the FE list too please! Is it posted somewhere so we can get updated copies as someone joins? Thanks!

Indeed, your information was added when you joined. The list will be sent to you tomorrow. It will not be posted on the forum to help protect everyones identity. I am stickler when it comes to protecting your privacy. :welcome:

Hello all! My DD14 and DS4 are now booked for this cruise with you fine folks! (yay) We previously cruised Jan2013 on the Magic and had a great time...needless to say. Originally, I booked for another date, but had to change that date twice since things happen :goodvibes Please add me to the FE, since we loved doing it last time. I have to admit that I just skipped the 8 pages to this one, but I promise to read them at a more reasonable hour :flower3: Can hardly wait to set sail again! :yay:

Please go to post #12, there is a link to the FE sign-up. Thanks and welcome.

Can you please add my family to the FE list?

It is just me (Kim), my DH (Dan) and my two DDs. Rose will be 11 and Lily will be 9 at cruise time!!!

So excited!!!
:wizard:

Yes, I have started a spreadsheet for FE exchange and will add you on. Once we get rolling, that will be shared with everyone. Since we are still a long way out, it might be a while before more people join in but I want to stay on top of it so I don't have to back track. As a group we will have to decide the specifics of how we want to organize it. I participated in one last year which was a lot of fun.

I found the post about checking out post 12!!! Working on the form now :)
What can I say? I was excited!!!
