My husband and I have done 9 cruises on Disney in Jan, Feb-Mar, May-June and Sept. The temperature of the water doesn't change all that much...it's usually cool-cold when you first step in but you get used to it quickly. What does change is the outside temperature and whether it's cloudy/rainy or not. This will be our third 2-day CC stop cruise. The first time was a complete surprise since we were supposed to have a day at sea but some repair work was needed on the ship and the captain made the decision to return to CC for the work to be completed instead of the day at sea. After that we looked for 2-day CC cruises. We've done Serenity Bay, the Family Beach and a private Cabana. We absolutely loved the private cabana. We just returned from a 3 day on the Dream with 8 other family members. The cabanas are just the right size for a family if you don't want to spend the entire day inside/out of the sun. It was a great congregation spot. They even included a pack-n-play crib for the little one to take a nap. The privacy is great and the fact that the crowds are kept on the other side of a barrier made for great swimming/floating without constantly bumping into someone. We didn't have anyone trying to take our hammock, beach chair that we had staked out all day or floats/tubes that we had rented. It was well worth the money once split multiple ways. The cabanas come with a refrigerator stocked with water/soft drinks, cold wet cloths and fresh fruit, towels, snacks, beach toys and sunscreen. And as anyone knows who's cruised Disney before they recommend and encourage you to take unopened products that you haven't used. The cabanas are secluded without being being out of the way and are close to the island amenities. We also spent much more time watching the fish in the water with fewer people to scare them off. Two small fish even spent time with me on my float as I was laying on it in the water. The food choices at the BBQs are coleslaw, potato salad, couscous salad, marinated tomatoes, hamburger/cheeseburger, hotdogs, sauerkraut, spicy chicken sandwich, BBQ ribs, mahi mahi, chicken, veggie burger, corn on the cob, vegetarian chili, pineapple upside down cake, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, fresh fruit, chips and ice cream. This will however be our first FE cruise. We've booked the Sept 2014 cruise with the same 8 family members and we're all excited and counting the days to go back and spend a great time together again. The FE will also give the kids something to work on to stay excited during the year (once they find out about the cruise at Christmas).
