Back to the issue of ToT...our neighborhood is a gated community & there's hayrides each Halloween that takes the kids around the neighborhood. Most of our lots are 2+/- acres and they're all set REALLY far back from the street, so it's pretty much impossible for littles to walk the entire way.
We always skip the hayrides because it's just plain NUTS...the big kids run likek mad children up to each house & (since everyone ToTs at the same time, there's usually buckets at most houses on the porch) the kids just mad-grab the candy. Drives me nuts.
So DH & I take DS (who's only 4 anyway) on the golf cart door to door ourselves. It's much more fun for all of us that way, and DS can take his time and enjoy.
The only bad thing, though, is that now for the past TWO years, the dang hayride hasn't come by our house. Now, in our neighborhood, unfortunately, there's a "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality & almost everyone gives out full size candy bars. So I couldn't be the *one* neighbor not to do that, so I purchased 100 of those 4ft long pixy sticks...And we were left with 98. What the heck am I supposed to do with 98 monster sized tubes of sugar?![]()
Next year, I'm going to forget the whole deal & just get REGULAR candy (shhhh..don't tell the neighbors...I'll be the black sheep of the neighborhood) and be done with it.
I wish we had hundreds of ToT kids...I love seeing them all. No luck though!
Anyone want some sugar?![]()
you can always save those pixie sticks for the fish extender exchange. i am allergic to sugar but for some odd reason thats the one candy that doesn't cause any kind of reaction.(and yes thats natural sugar as well leaves me kind of limited on what i can eat)
