Sorry my presence hasn't been here. I am still trying to get over the crap I caught on my last cruise or on the way home. I ended up at the doctor's today to get medication so hopefully I will be well soon.

Grandma - were you on the 9/15 Eastern? If so, I've got the same cold/flu. I started by getting a sore throat on Thursday. Friday, after Castaway Cay, I was miserable. I managed through dinner - didn't want to go, but had to say goodbye to our servers & tablemates - then crashed the rest of the night. I missed the Til We Meet Again because I was sleeping through it.

I'm finally started to feel a little better. Still very congested, but *feel* better. I've been blaming it on the Goofy pool. :) Seriously... I went down to sunbathe and watch Lilo & Stitch on the Aerial vision. Noticed when arrived that pool seemed "cloudy". Thought to myself, "hmmmm... tinkle in the pool?" Figures I'd get so hot sitting there (we were still in port... no sea breeze) that I'd have to take a dip. So, Goofy pool. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

No I got off the boat the day you got on. I was never at the goofy pool but I do believe it was going around the ship. I did not get sick until the Tuesday after we returned so I was exposed at the very end of the cruise. Could have been another cruiser or a castmember. There are a lot of folks out her in the midwest with the same thing. So it is really hard to say. There were about 6 or 8 other people on the 9/8/07 cruise that also got sick at the end or right after. Guess you get got caught up in it too. Hopefully it will not happen next year as I entend to play very hard for all 21 days if we can come up with the money. Glad you are feeling better. I believe I am on the right road to recovery now too. Lois

Don't our tickers look great! It's so nice to see them under 12 months! I was telling the kids at breakfast that we only had 364 more days to go! :cool1:
I'm going to have to make a game out of this just to drive Doug crazy. He was in the office - he's working from home today - and I'm sure he was rolling his eyes at the conversation. :rotfl:

Rkandmjsmommy - You are a cool Aunt! Would have loved to have had you around when it was potty training time here.
We were building our house just before Grady started potty training, and if I had known the "mess" that little boys make I would have had his bathroom floor tiled with a drain. Megan was much easier and cleaner! :rotfl:

Thank you Kimberly for the insight about the tags. I was clueless about that too. :confused3

Grandma4ever and RetroJulie I hope you both are feeling better! Were you on the Magic or the Wonder? I think I'm going to take some Airborne Medicine with me and see if I can not catch this crud next week.

I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Thanks for the help explaining the tags. I finally put down the laptops last night and hung out with kiddo and DH, so I didn't see the messages.

Looks like a grey day here in Denver. DH is coming down with the creeping crud, too. Just figures--we scheduled a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary next week.

Every time I go to Denver to visit my DD, I get sick. We call it the Denver Crud. Coming down the mountain from the ski resorts, you can see the brown cloud over Denver. We live in Nowhereland now. There's about 50 people in our town and, until this weekend when we rent our house next door, we have a whole block to ourselves. That's why I can call my DH the Blockhead! :rotfl:

I was on the magic but I don't think it will matter which ship you are on. It just seems to be every where and you might just get it. Airborne might be a very good idea and I might use it next year.

Thanks for the info on the Tag Fairies. I guess we all just need to have "Faith, Trust, and a little Pixie Dust". Lois

TGIF !!!! :cool1:

Our tickers look Great at under 12 months.. Funny how that does make it seem so much closer.. doesn't it ?? :wizard:

Hey!!!!!!! :guilty: My ticker is broken !!!

It is still stuck on 12 months :badpc:

OK....I've decided that CafePress is reprising the role Sally Field played in the film "Cybil"....they have multiple personality disorder, I think!!

This morning I got two emails from them. One reminding me that my recent order was found to be in violation of their policies BLAH BLAH BLAH.....and then about 15 minutes later an email saying "Congratulations! Your cafepress order is on its way!" confirming that it was shipped to my home address and gave me a tracking number and everything and that the package should be here within 5 business days.....CUCKOOO!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Anyhow....I'm going to ASSUME that means my items are on their way and are not actually flagged......and that my hubby, Jason's initial instinct was right....that they just don't want you to be able to create store so that you are selling the items to otehr people and making a profit off somebody else's copyrighted ideas or images...but that ordering for your own personal use is something they'll let slide. Jason also had another thought, too. He thinks that perhaps because Erica (zweihund) created her store first...with the store name "Double Dip" that maybe that flagged my image initially because the file had the same name---"Double Dip Logo Large" is the one I used....so maybe that triggered their alert system at first but then they realized that my order was not connected to the store on which they but the kaibosh.

Soooo.......I'm going to tentatively say that ordering with the logo individually works. For people who don't really know how to do it, I'm going to leave a detailed step by step set of instructions on how to do it.

Kind of like the $19.99 versus $20, huh. I'll fork out $19.99 for something... what a deal, but I'll hesitate when it's $20. ;)

Thank you for offering to put out step my step instructions. Please keep them simple remembering that I am 52 years old and am like a fish out of water when it come to doing stuff on my computer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the work you and other have done on this thread. Lois

Don't worry Lois....I'll try to keep it simple and explain every single step. My mother is just like you...probably worse.....she's so proud of herself she can't stand it because she just bought her first item on ebay a couple weeks ago. In fact, until this past April they didn't even HAVE a computer.....the only accessed email and the internet through a webtv unit that I bought them for Christmas when I was in college so that I could communicate with them more easily from my college email account....back in like 1994!!!

Alright folks...here they are....the logo images, as promised, in time for the one-year-to-go "holiday"!!!

I have created the logo in three sizes WITHOUT the white space for names. This means that the mickey map is shifted down a bit and that the image itself is a little bit less rectangular. I have created it in three sizes.

First, LARGE (this shoudl be approximately 8.5 x 11 inches). I thought this size woudl be good for the fronts of Tshirts and also would work well for other cafepress stuff because images look better when they are created big and then shrunk rather than created small and blown up. So here is that one:

DoubleDipLogoLarge.jpg

Second is Medium (shoudl be approximately 5" x 7"). Honestly I'm not sure what this would be ideal for...I just thought if I made a big one and a small one then we would need a medium one, too.....how very Goldilocks of me!! But I imagine this could work if people wanted to print the image themselves at home for magnets or projects or something. Here is that one:

DoubleDipLogoMedium.jpg

Then finally I created a small version. This is the one that I thought people could use as part of their signatures since it's created to be about 2.5" by 3". Here is that one:

DoubleDipLogoSmall.jpg

Now, if I'm figuring right....people should be able to just right click on those images and save them to their own computers and use them in signatures, etc. If anyone needs me to email the files directly, just let me know and I'll be happy to do so. Also if anyone wants it in a specific size other than those posted, that's pretty easy to do, too, so just let me know that as well.

Once again.....a huge thanks to everyone who participated in the voting, idea generating, clip-art finding, etc. I'm really pleased with how the logo turned out....will be proud to wear it on a lanyard, Tshirt, and other souvenirs....but even more I'm thrilled that it ended up being such a great group process so we can all feel like we played a part in making something meaningful and fun!!
First I want to thank Eric for the great logo work :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
then I want to say Hi to all of you :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I have to try to get up to speed on this thread so I'll check back to that post you have up then by way of introduction I am EllaEnchanted's DH. when I can I jump in on all our cruise threads.

I just had to point out the fact we were in college in the same year.

Love the designs, Erik! :thumbsup2

I did not graduate college until July 1993.

*hrrrrmmmm* That actually doesn't say anything about your age... But that username and "graduate college until July 1993" have my head spinning, seeing I have a TODDLER...???

Which is it? Are you in your thirties, or are you a steady learner like my mom?

:rotfl: Inquiring minds (aka, nosy me) want to know!

Brandie

Hey I was in college in 1994 also. But I was a junior--graduated on 1995 so I am older than Erik (and I think I am older than Brandie too). Not being into partying overly when I was younger I was always the youngest in our cirlce of friends (otehr than Dave who is two months younger than me and will never let me forget it). Lately there are always younger people and I am feeling so OLD. Lois, I hope to be back in school someday myself. One of these days I will live near a university and I will go back. I really, truly love school.

Oh and hello to Ella's husband (Grumpy John I think it was). :) I think you may be hte only SO on the thread who posts (frequently it is just one of us in a couple who is so obssessed:rotfl2: ). Way to go:thumbsup2 So hte kids and I were talking today and it occred to us that next year is Leap Year meaning TODAY is the 365 day mark. So not fair:sad2:

Hey folks! Ok here we go...I'm going to give you step by step instructions to get stuff with our logo from cafepress.com. This post is going to be long....but I wanted to make it as detailed and helpful as possible...so print it out and follow these steps:

1. Download and save the following image by right clicking on it and choose "save to desktop" or "save as.." You will notice that I am giving you only the BIG file because it's better to use the big file and have it SHRUNK onto something small (like a bag or a mug) than to use the small one and try to blow it up onto a shirt.

DoubleDipLogoLarge.jpg

2. I strongly suggest that you now RENAME the file. Find it on your desktop (or wherever your computer saved it) and call it something else like "my logo" or "cruise image".

3. Go to www.cafepress.com

4. In the green menu bar across the top of the page, select "Make Your Own Stuff"

5. A new page then opens up with a bunch of categories like "Apparel" and "Prints and Cards" and "Fun Stuff" and so forth. Look through all the items available and figure out the items you like and want the logo on. When you find something you want to buy, click on it. This will then open the series of pages where you actually create your item. It's pretty straight forward.....but here's an example "walk through"......

Let's say you want to purchase what Jason and I got....ring-neck Tshirts with the logo on the front. So under "Apparel" you would scroll down to "Custom Ringer T" and click on it. That would open a page where you get to might make some choices about your item. In this case you choose the collar color...so let's say you choose BLACK/WHITE. Then you click"Create It" to go on to the next step. In this case it let's you select if you want front design or back design or both. I want front design so I select that tab. Then click "choose file" to find the image on your computer and click "Add & Preview." It will then download your file and show you an image of what your item will look like. It might have some options where you can choose to make small changes like flip it horizontal or vertical or change the size of the image slightly or put the image centered or on a pocket, etc. Any changes you make will change on the picture so you can actually see EXACTLY what your item will look like. When it looks right to you, click "Review and Order". The site will then let you choose the quantity you want, the size, and whether you want it direct print or heat transfer. Make your selections and click "Add to cart" which will take you to your checkout list. If that's all you want to create...then click on "Checkout" and follow the easy steps to input your credit info, shipping address, etc.....if you want to create other stuff then click on "Keep Shopping" and go back and create all the other stuff you want.

It's that easy....if anyone has questions, just let me know. There are a few important notes to remember though:

1. When given the choice of direct print or heat transfer....you should always choose direct print because it will look better and it will last longer. Heat transfer, especially on fabric items, may crack and will wear more during laundering.
2. If you intend to buy multiples of the same item only in DIFFERENT SIZES then you have to create an item for each size. For instance in the example above, once I created the shirt I could not just order one large one medium and two smalls....I would have to create the shirt and order a large then "keep shopping" and create the shirt again to order a medium and then "keep shopping" and create the shirt again and order two smalls. You can only order multiples of an item in the SAME SIZE.
3. Because of the dimensions and shape of our image there are some things that you should NOT try to print because it will look wierd or it will cut off part of the image. I appears to work on all apparel, but some of the other items are a different story. Specifically I noticed the following things that will NOT work with our logo:
anything oval or round---which includes the buttons, pins, stickers, clock, ornament, etc.
the rectangular stickers and postcards (it doesn't fit exactly and will either cut off the edges or put a white letterboxing line above and below the image)
square tile items...including the coaster and the memento/jewelry box
the rectangular magnet (it has the same problem as the stickers and postcards above)

So that about does it. Good luck everyone.....and like I said, anyone who has questions or needs help, just let me know!!!
