Something about Canadian Thanksgiving......which I still don't think I believe. :rotfl: ;)

So you'll just have to warm the boat up for us, which I'm sure you'll do a great job of! :thumbsup2

Depending on when your train leaves, you should try and stop on Park Ave (where the train stops in Winter Park) at the Sweet Shop for some homemade ice cream. It's GREAT. I can't remember the name of the place right now and it's driving me nuts! But I'll find it for you.

edit: ok, THIS is the place. Only about a block from the train station!

Canadian Thanksgiving? We will do our best to warm up the boat for you! :cool1: I picked up some great tropical shirts for DH today and he got so excited and said, "These will be great for the cruise!" (He was refering to Sept '08). Little does he know. :goodvibes I also picked up a snorkel set. I figured for $20.00 We can use it for all 3 visits to Castaway Cay!:thumbsup2

A stop at the sweet shop is a must. Thank's for the great info, but it will have to be on the way home. I'm not much for Ice Cream at 9:00am!! We will have about 3 hours to kill before the train departs for the trip home.

We are back!!! Man what a trip....Ashley stood infront of Cinderella castle and then looked down at the ducks and only talked about the ducks....:confused3 WE WERE at the WORLD and she wanted to talk about ducks..

It was really awkward..but at the end of the week she started coming around. She loved the fireworks, and even finally hugged a character. She hates rollercoasters and only wanted to ride on the merry-go-round. Maddie loved it all as usual and YES I GOT TO RIDE THE ROCKIN ROLLERCOASTER!!! The two year wait was well worth it....PS POTC has changed and included Depp.!

Welcome back! We were there in November and saw Depp on POTC. There were some ladies in the boat in front of us that got so excited I thought they were going to fall in.:confused3 My DD was 3 at the time and she went between the merry-go-round and the It's A Small World ride. When we got home she asked Santa for her own Small World ride for our back yard - she even asked for the person sitting in the booth above the boats waving to be included in her ride. :confused3

Hello all, DH, DS(8), DD(8 months) and my inlaws are booked for this cruise. We booked it on our last 3 day Wonder in May.:thumbsup2

This will be our third Disney cruise.

:) More later, it's late here and I must sleep!!

WELCOME! We are also traveling with our in laws (they have been on 3 of our 5 DCL cruises with us). Is your DS 8 now or will he be 8 on the trip? My DS is 8 now and will be 9 on the trip. He'll be glad to know there is another boy on the thread (seems there have been a lot of girls lately).

DS is 8 now, 9 on the trip :D
I just checked our docs, we are in room 7102 and 7100.
This will be our first time on the Magic. I am really excited!

It is a great ship and it is sooooo nice not to have to get off as soon (I am spoiled now by the 14 nigth and 7 sounds so short to me--I could never do only 3 or 4 again!). Rio (my DS) says to tell your DS hello and he is looking forward to seeing him in the lab next year.

Hey! The Force is with us again! Long time no see!

Or how about:
Long time no sea!
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Seriously, I love your 'handle', FatherForce! Star Wars was one of the 1st movies I saw as a kid. It was our now traditional Christmas Eve movie w/my dad. Many fond memories.......

YES ANOTHER BUCS FAN!!!! We live in Largo and are DieHard Bucs Fans!!:cheer2: We love Busch Gardens!
S

Awesome!:thumbsup2
We actually decided to drop our season tickets this year. :sad1: We bought them before the kids and we only had 2 (now we need 4)...and they were *awful*, nosebleeders! We could usually scrounge better seats off ticketmaster anyway. We were on the wait lists for 2 more seats and/or better seats forever and never got anywhere, so....:confused3
Anyway, GO BUCS!!!:woohoo:

Busch Gardens is a beautiful park. We actually haven't been in a while. We had fun cards for years and got a little burnt out, believe it or not! It hasn't been the same for me since they got rid of the brewery, though! :rotfl2:

In fact we went to Sea World yesterday, it was great!!:yay:

I love the new POTC additions......if you've seen POTC 3, they used sound clips from the ride during Jack's sequence in Davy Jones' Locker. Weren't the animatronics crazy? It looked so real!

Park Ave is really nice to walk through too. The park is pretty, the stores are nice, and the car-watching is pretty good too. It's smack in the middle of the affluent part of the city - LOTS of beemers!

Finally back on the boards and just dropping in to say hello.

FF! :woohoo:

Busch Gardens was my favorite theme park for awhile (before I was a Disney junkie), and even then it was only surpassed in its originality of combining animal watching and roller coaster goodness by Animal Kingdom. AK is the only reason we don't ever go anymore, because it's only a 30 minute drive as opposed to 2 hrs to Busch Gardens. We're lazy ;)

Happy Friday everyone! It grows ever closer :woohoo:

What do you enjoy most on Castaway Cay? Have any of you rented the snorkeling gear, or participated in any of the excursions, or do you just enjoy relaxing on the beach? Since we wil have two days, wondering what is the best way to spend our time. Thanks!

Leslie

Here's the official warning: I'm going to whine & whimper a bit.

I broke my pinky toe this morning. Ouch!! While trying to get my daughter ready for 'school' (daycare), I caught my toe on the edge of her toy box. I did it just right to break it apparently. :sad2: After multiple hrs spent for dr visit & x-ray, I received the official word - it is broken, not sprained. At least I don't have to wear a 'boot' & there's plenty of time to recover before our cruise. :woohoo:

I know its a small thing in the grand scheme of things, but it surely does hurt at times! I sure could do w/one of the Italian Wedding Cake Martinis I've heard mentioned here. <sigh>

Ok, done w/the whining now. Thanks for the indulgence.

Awe....honey, you are SO allowed to whine about that! If you're trying to find another positive, at least it's summer so you have shoe options to let that little piggy breath without constraint.

Take it easy!! (let your husband know that part, too!) :daisy:

We have never done an excursion on Castaway because we always feel there is so much to do anyway and just not enough time (even on the Double Dip)--okay we mostly have an appointment to do nothing. We usually get a couple sets of snorkle gear (or haul or our own) and a float. We also rent bikes once in while. Otherwise, we relax on the beach and in the water, stroll around, play some ping pong on solid ground, eat tons of fruit and ice cream and RELAX. We are always among the first off and last back on (funny, we do not care much for beaches otherwise--but Disney makes it perfect).

 Like Kimberly says you have every right to whine. And, I think you can keep whining right up until it is all better. Do like Kimberly says and tell Hubby to take care of you so you can take it easy.

Thanks. He's actually VERY good about things like this. He knows I'm a whimp when it comes to pain. He was wonderful during my recoveries from my shoulder surgeries (same surgery on both shoulders). In fact, he agreed to take DD & him out for supper since he knew I just wanted to come home, take meds & put my feet up. He really is a gem (even though I gripe about things he does/doesn't do all too often & those just don't matter in the long run).

Can ya tell that the meds have kicked in? :) Seriously, he is a very good man.

Hadley and Rhonda, your stories are so humbling!! Thanks for keeping us grounded.

You both are just wonderful to do such awesome things. Hadley - your story made me cry. You are such a blessing to this boy and Rhonda - what a great ministry. I just love it!!! My great news is that my husband has a job interview within the next week or two in Lakeland - 30 minutes outside of Orlando - I am soooo excited and I bet you can guess why? Anyway, bless you both!:)

Yeah Yeah! I wish. I pray our house will sell and everything will work great with the interview. Abby is nervous, but that is normal. I told her to talk to Marika about it. I cannot wait to see all our friends at WDW!:)

Hoagie Pie,
At least for me, this is just something I do along w/a lot of other folks in my church. Its one night our sunday school class commits to once a quarter - not really that big of a personal sacrifice. I'm sure there are plenty others on the board doing much more than this. DH was able to give one of the guys we were serving last night a lead for possible employment. I'm NOT a big fan of DH's company, but if this guy can get a job through them to help support his family, so much the better.

That's great news about your DH!! I hope all works out the way it is supposed to. I know how frustrating it can be to get into a job that looks fantastic from the 'outside' only to be a complete nightmare once you start working. Sorry, don't want to sound like a wet blanket.......
You'd be ssssoooooo close to WDW!! Lucky you!
